Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 399 and 400

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi to all. I heard from my son on Saturday...so nice to hear his voice. He was never one for detail, and I didn't ask a lot of questions. So I know little about those with whom he trains. He's a tall, lanky guy whose a lot of fun to be around. It seemed they have little time to socialize and walk about the barracks. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm having a hard time imagining what the days look like...so I keep reading posts for the experiences of others. He really wanted mail. I assured him it was coming :)
Hi my fellow 400 moms ! I haven't heard from my son since the night he got to bootcamp ! I received his letter letting us know his ship, div and PIR date but that has been it! I really wish we hear from him soon I am going crazy not knowing how he is doing and just not talking to him his hard! The longest my son has been away from me is a week and he was with grandma and he was 3 !! I am missing him so much ! My son is a quiet little guy, lol! I hope he is making a lot of friends !
Hi Katp! Hope you hear from him soon. Nice to know our boys are in the same DIV. Communicating and getting answers has been tough on me. He was never one to like being interrogated so I'm just doing my own reconnaissance lol. This site has a lot to offer takes a lot of time and I still don't have the answers. Hoping his first letter gives me more insights. Are there about 80 guys in this division?
Hi Runforlife, I am not sure how many guys are in one div, I will have to look that up ! Lol! I have been on this site since my son was in DEP! There definitely is a lot of valuable info on here ! I hope to hear from my son soon, hopefully his first letter comes soon and tells me why I haven't received a phone call yet !

Divisions can start with approx 100 SRs, but the average has been about 88. The number in the division will change almost the entire time your SRs are in BC. Some are asmo'd, some don't make it and are sent home, others who have been asmo'd from a previous PIR join the division, some return from RCU etc.

Is there a group for these two divisions or individual divisions...specifically 399! Hoping for photos :)

I've searched the web, the only chance of finding pictures is on the Facebook page for Naval Recruits. On Tuesday they have a trivia Question it you get the answer first you get a picture of your division; however, it may not be your recruit.

Good Morning, My son is in div.399, I received a letter from my son last Thursday. He said that there are 82 people in the div. Is an integrated div. The officers at his div are the nicest at the camp. something that made me smile when he wrote that he makes his beds three times a day. (something that he has never done it before... :)  )

They walk at least 4 miles a day because they march information everywhere....whether its to the pool or to the phone center like when he called us last Saturday.

Can't wait for another letter or phone...miss him so much...

Please share if you know any other news from the bootcamp...

Love that I get to hear how everyone's SR is doing, my daughter is too interested in finding out what is going on at home how her siblings, parents are getting along. Have 6 kids its hard to get a word in... I know div 399 has a test Monday and may get to call Wednesday.. If not it could be a few weeks before another call is made. She said write a lot .. There are some who didn't receive letters .. Division 400 is its brother Division ; any word on another call next week?
I received a phone call today. It was nice to hear from my son. He's in Div 400. He sounds very upbeat said he's getting second haircut this week, the rest of his uniform, and formal photos done. As Spidersmom said, he has a test tomorrow also. He said he's receiving our mail and gets to send mail on Sundays. They were at the NEX when he called. I wish I knew how to send letters to those not getting mail. It must be hard. My heart goes out to those recruits. Everyone take care. We booked our flights and stay at Ramada. Hoping we made the right decision for our stay.
What my daughter doesn't talk about it I forget to ask her, I have my family of navy moms to fill I the blanks..
Thank you so much for posting about your SR's.

We got a phone call this evening. He said that he will have his second PFT this week. He got his uniform done and have  his second hair cut last week. Looking forward to hear his voice again next week...

I hope all of you get to hear from your son/daughter too.
