Our son said he misses wierd things like carpet, they sat on the hard tile for 9 hours on Thanksgiving week-end, not being able to talk, he says he thinks he is losing his social skills, (haha), he misses seeing dogs, there are no animals anywhere, wearing sandals and listening to music. He wanted me to send stationary, does anyone know if they can buy it there?
Hi Cindy, yes they can buy stationary there probably at the NEX, my sons letters are all on navy stationary. The letters have the navy emblem but weirdly, the emblem on the envelopes is blacked out with marker. I wonder why... You might want to send him stamps...
My son's too. It's a security thing, maybe? Or maybe they can't use the emblem on the outside until they are sailors instead of recruits?
Ladies it would be my honor to make you scarfs, and because of security I could send them to someone like Jans friend Lydia. And they can send to you......You have a very brave group of SR's There!!! God Bless

What if you can't be there, are you saying another SR who has somewhere to go can invite one other SR to go with them but we need to approve it by a form? It will mean that for sure we get to talk to them that day what a gift that will be, I am getting teary just thinking about it!
Bonnie----My hubby and me are going for christmas and we would love to adopt a recruit. Not sure I understand the proper procedure to do it though. we got our form. It looks like our son was suppose to add a recruit to it. since he did not how can we let him know it is ok to do so if he would like?

Bonnie---we are staying at the Days Inn simply because of the price and wanted to save money for PIR weekend.  Its only a mile from the base.  I can't wait to see and hug him.

Bonnie, We are staying at the Days Inn for Christmas,  and no they don't have kitchen but do have frig and microwave.  We still looking for a place with a kitchen for PIR to stay.
