Yesterday was aday from hell with flights delayed over and over again, and an airline mistake that left me with "no ticket" halfway thru my trip. I arrived at Chicago Ohare yesterday morning at 7am and finally got hime at 9pm last night... the problem with that is that I was supposed to have been home by 12 noon...I was only flying to VA. It has been a long weekend of trials and tribulations but  it was all worth it to spend that short time with D. But even while I was in philly my son made it better with a nice 30 min phone call that allowed me to smile after being stuck there for more than 6.5 hours.

Thank you to all the wonderful Ladies that helped keep my spirits up and real goals in perspective with words of encouragement while I struggled to not have a complete breakdown this weekend lol

Now Im just waiting for my phone call from D tomorrow to let me know it is all over and he is on his way back to his Div. before he heads to A school , he still has a few days before he goes "across the street" as he says.

I so enjoy reading all the updates of eveyones visits - So proud of all the kids that gave it their all and didnt give up even if it meant hanging in there a little longer than they thought. How wonderful they all are. =)

Love you all...be safe!!

This weekend has been wonderful! I'm still spending time with my son. I'm not leaving till Mon am. He is leaving early Tues am for Pensacola. I love being with him, but I can't wait till I'm back in Florida weather. I don't think I'll complain about the 30's or 40's for a while!

Greetings Lala Ribbon Queen,

THe ribbons were at The Residence Inn when we got there a bit before 3:00.  After the other person got the package then ours were brought right to our door.   Wore mine all day today too - sailors and other  moms at the airport knew from the ribbons that I was a sailor mom.    thanks so much - I will be wearing mine proudly at church later today!   They are a beautiful keepsake!   Much appreciation.

We just got back to VA after a wonderful PIR weekend.   I loved meeting so many of you through the weekend.

Salma - your son is a great leader - I think my son's tardiness at the airport was too much for him.  Sorry it was our fault of not knowing we could go past security with him right away.   All that hurrying onto the plane and then all those poor sailors had to wait almost 45 minutes before take off.

It was fantastic to have my son with us for a day on Friday and the see him off at 6:45am to Charleston SC.    What's better is he now has his laptop so when I got home I saw he was online and I could chat with him immediately.  wow - no more waiting for letters.  He was able to tell me about the trip to A School and where he and his Nuke friends went this evening.  They are free this weekend with nothing official to do until Monday.     Life is good now that he has laptop, internet, and cell phone.   All the stuff we brought for him strategically fit in the one laptop case- whew...

Glad to be out of the Windy City!!    We'll continue to pray for all our sailors and God knows what each of their needs are right now and in the days ahead as we ask for His help for them.

To anyone who was going to meet Bonnie at the Olive Garden- she wanted me to apologize for her- She is very sorry, her plans had changed and she couldn't get on the internet at her hotel, so she couldn't let you all know.
