Navymom - our experience was great tooo...
ericsmom -- well. hopefully we will have more that will come here over the next few weeks ... looks like quite a few kids represented here! How exciting!

Nurse - I just wish you could re-negotiate her contract with a different recruiter.... but you know we are here if you need us or want to bounce some ideas off us... you have seasoned moms here....

Lala -- great but when can you send it... in our PIR group there was a criteria for that...like the parking passes..... like X amount of weeks before PIR... sorry Im trying to remember.. .haha yea right .. anyway... we will find out....

to answer your questions about makeup. We were able to send her some basic makeup, powder foundation and mascara. No eyeshadow. She actually asked us to send it during one of her calls. She was also allowed to have her hairdryer and straightener sent to her as well. But that was because she was in the performing division, in the choir and they were preforming at other PIR ceremonies. They have to ask you to send it. If the RDC gives them permission to have it they will ask for it. It has to be opened in front of the RDC and the RDC keeps it locked up until they need it.

Happy Veterans Day to All, it really has a new meaning as our perceptions shift according to our new experiences....Sending Love and good thoughts to nurse and her daughter( and all those who love and care about them)..Boy talk about a roller coaster, all that you go through and it must feel like being derailed...It is amazing how the recruiter experiences are so varied. My sons recruiter was an angel in our lives. He even showed up for my sons swearing in as a Depper AND his swearing in to Active Duty...He always went over and above in so many ways...He came to our home to meet with us and answer any questions and we had a 7 day, which was our whole family (siblings and parents) going to the recruiting station where we spent over two and a half hours gaining info. about my sons new adventure....They were amazing... On the other hand, and I don't know why there was a breakdown in communication, but another recruit that my son knew from the spec. ops training was from a different recruiting station and when we met his parents at MEPS for the swearing in, the mom couldn't understand how I knew as much as I did. I told her about our meetings with the recruiters and she said she had never met with any nor spoke with any. I don't want to place blame on anyone because there could be a number of reasons for this but it is interesting to hear of the many scenarios. Like someone mentioned, there are all kinds of experiences in every field...I am very grateful for the support we have received. From the recruiters, to the mentors and to all the wonderful people on this website. In fact his recruiter told me about N4M's and he was so excited when I told him I had joined. He spoke soooo highly of it.. Thank Goodness....Lots of Love and Good Wishes to All...Hoping for my letter tomorrow...:)

We had a really good recruiter and God bless him he even answered questions for people in my PIR group who didn't have such great experiences...he was awesome and straightforward and ethical...he called and checked on me while my son was gone...I have come to find out he was one in a million...

Thats so unfortunate Nurse... So sorry. We are retired military so we knew to make sure our son had a contract for his rate. The Navy is a great branch of the militrary, it seems that you guys got someone who didnt do their job and sometimes there are those people in even the best of businesses. I hope that things work out for your daughter and there is a resolution to the issue that works in her favor... ((((hugs))))
