I called the recruit as I got the box but no letter, he gave me his address but forgot a whole line( Recruit training command) and even when I called back about if there was a special way to write their name he said no. So I hope no trouble.I did get his form letter and a brief 3 lines from our SR. short but so precious,I am so glad for this site, I looked at his hand writing and it was so neat and uniform in size and I told my husband the ladies said this would happen ! Happy Veterans Day, has even more meaning now!

Its okay Navymom...you will find yourself crying at the darndest times...at least I did...I cried when I washed the last of his dirty clothes, when I found something of his that I least expected...when someone left him a facebook message...it was a long couple weeks initially..but slowly the tears began to reside adn I became resigned to the fact that he was gone...and my life had to change...I became more involved on this site, made friends, and really educated myself,..I learned about what he was doing week to week, focused on the end goal. You can do it too, in this group, people with cry with you, laugh with you, worry with you, and get mad with you at times...its okay...you have found your home away from home for a while. here you will earn your navy stripes called proud and strong...good luck on your journey!!

New Horizons...the colored envelope is low on the totem pole of infractions...don't worry about that so much....lol they might tease the recruit a bit...

I try to air on the side of caution folks...so all RDCs are different...but you never know which ones your recruit will get...so initially try to follow all the rules that we give you and then your recruit may tell you what you can ease up on...but trust me...I had young men in one my divisions doing 8 counts (some ugly exercise) for every letter in the address not printed in block letters....ouch....so while it seems that the rules are picky....saving your child from any addn PT is good....trust me the RDCs find enough reasons...we don't have to help those sweet angelic RDCs out...lol
