FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

LoL - Lydia why be normal!!! My son was suppose to arrive in GL on Tues but no airline tkts were available for Tues! And his PIR is 1/7/11. He actually called on Saturday and we were out of town and missed the call- He was funny- YEA this is your son calling from boot camp and your aren't home! haha then said he was good and wanted to say he really missed us and loved us a lot! and then said gotta run my minute is up!

We got our box and letter the same day.. wasn't expecting the letter but was so excited to see his writing!

newhorizon I got my letter Monday and my kid in the box yesterday. My son left Nov.1 and arrived in GL on Nov 3.

KWN - you will have to ask him.... I put that on my questionnaires Id send to him cause their weeks are not like ours.... Their day 1 might have started Monday.. Its weird how they do it.... form letters this week - actual letter letters not for a few weeks AT BEST!..

newhorizons - no worries the first two weeks are as confusing for moms as for the kids but after about the third week - it gets better for us not for them until about week 5.... that is when they start to learn to work as a team and stop getting each other in trouble.

Lydia, since they were arrived in GL last week, is this week 1 for them or week 2?
