FIRST TIME HERE?

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

IN THE FORM LETTER there will be a pamphlet with hotels and other stuff.... WAIT FOR THAT FORM LETTER!!!!!

idaho - on my 818s group.... one of my friends cat keeps bringing moles and mice and such to the door as looking for her boy - animals have great senses

Good morning everyone! Hope all of you are holding up. I am much more relaxed and concentrating on writing every other day. Our dogs are pathetic and we just crack up at them looking for the boys all the time.

newhorizons - kid box first then about a week later the form letter. The PIR will be on the form letter as well as address! Be sure and go read some of the stuff up in the forum area... click on View All - lots of stuff to help you there!

Do the form letters have PIR date on them and they are in the Kid Box? That is what I had thought until I talked to the recruiter who said that my son would have to write me a letter? Hmm hear alot of different answers to same question but I am sure I will find out sooner or later. Peace to all

becki - the box is hard! The form letters usually have a little note at the very bottom where they scribble a note to you.. I could hardly read Bs.... he said on those few lines..... tired, been up 38 hours, not liking this.... love you bye ahahahahah
