I realize there may be conflicting info. I just don't want to miss this phone call. I missed the very first one that she was given and was heartbroken. I think she would be heartbroken if I missed this one. I have been glued to my phone for the past 9 weeks. I'm sooo ready for this to be over. Like every other person here..

Thanks for all the help you have given. I don't post much but am here to read often.

Carly, I think I have the car situation worked out my sister is helping me.

GG Love those book ideas I am going to look them up. New book I would like is called  The Brave by Evans.I heard about it on NPR about bravery through a fiction story. I am not sure if it would be good or bad for my SR but I will read it.

Kimberli61 I bought my SR two challenge coins one engraved, and he has the one and only christmas present this year in our family. This trip, tee hee.

I think this is a list of things we will do while waiting for my turn with SR

When I actually get my Son I think I will just cook all day and maybe we will go to the mall, somthing he likes. We shall see. But my plan is to get up early and cook breakfast, run and pick him up come back and open his stocking with little things in it. Cook and cook and cook. Back etc. Its so funny I have one suit case that just has spices and food items (non paritialbles) London's snacks. I have the pesto and the cheese grater...just laughing thinking about it. But I REALLY WANT IT TO FEEL HOMEY FOR HIM!  Oh I can not wait. I am preparing to keep myself very busy after I drop him off and trying to focus on what I will do, so the  fact that I will not see him again for another 3 months, wont get to me too much.  Keep it together Ladies when you say goodbye, remeber it will not be too long before you see them again.  If you can make it through this you are doing great. Here is a poem I found and sent to my son after his brother died and it was like we were loosing him too to the Navy. I knew I had to let him go and spread his wings. He was Happy and excited about the Navy and I can now say, It was the best thing he could have ever, ever done. I have grown so much!

A Son is born

Life goes on

No one knows

Just when it happens

But one day

A miracle happens

The child has changed

The child is no longer

A man has taken his place

All grown up

Ideas have changed

Responsibility comes easily

Parents sit back and admire

The person he has become

Apron strings cut long ago

You cannot help but wonder

Will you always feel

The way you do now?

Prouder than anyone

Of whom he has become

Admiration beyond imagination

A parent's love

Enduring all else

Wanting to be needed

Knowing when to stand aside

A fate hard to accomplish

Needing to be wanted

As if the man has not emerged

The life he lives

Has room enough for all

The thoughtfulness in his heart

His caring ways

New hobbies he shares

With friends old and new

The man shines through

My son, my child

You are a man, this is true

To me you will always be

That child in my arms

Whom I loved from the start

Brittsmom:  If you go to the BattleStations discussion above, you will see where a mom posted that last night was the night for 36, but another mom posted that hers said Mon or Tues.  So...we shall see!  There is always some confusion on the actual dates...we do the best we can with the info we have!
Comment by diannep on January 4, 2011 at 10:18am
They will be a SN then (Seaman....not Seaman Recruit).  Then their job rate initials would be in there also.  Mine is a YN, so his title is now YNSN.

Thank you for the info.  I did not know that they had to stay awake all day today as well.  I should have, that only makes sense. LOL  Ok, so how about this one then. So, right now it is SR, Last Name, First Name.  Does this change after Graduation?  And to what?  Refering to the SR part.

Brittsmom:  We only get dates from the recruits.  So we are NEVER sure!  HA!

But I know that 36 would go through with 35 (brother divisions).  I say...be ready today...for the call...and tomorrow too if it doesn't come today!

Comment by Brittsmom on January 4, 2011 at 10:12am
Are you sure about the schedule for battlestations? My daughter is in 036 and told us theirs would be on Tuesday.. today? I would be thrilled if she were wrong about that:) I would have missed being stressed out..

Suzi:  They have their capping ceremony (trade their recruit cap for their sailor cap...this is the graduation ceremony) this morning...then they have chores to do, PIR practice, etc.  They are not allowed to fall asleep until 8 pm tonight, so they are allowed energy drinks and candy bars!  A real treat for them.  Sometimes the calls come in the morning if they have BattleStations 2 nights before PIR (finishing on day before PIR).  But usually they don't come until the afternoon.  Be ready at any time!  Mine came at 2:16 GL time when my son was there and we talked an hour.  But he only had 2 divisions go through...since there were 4 divisions last night, calls may not be quite as long.
