A special thanks to Lydia for your wonderful support during this tearful, proud journey we all endured these last 8 weeks. You are a beautiful example of a human being with a huge heart. I'm sure I speak for the group and say WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Navymom...You just sent  chills my way!  I think that is an awesome idea.  I want to read it myself!  I will go out and look at Amazon to see if they have it so I can download it to my Kindle and maybe read it on the long drive up to Chicago.  I'll also check out the website you mentioned so I can get him the signed copy.

And New SR Wife, I'm prayin, prayin, prayin!  I know it's going to be tough but I think all of our guys and gals are pumped and ready!  Hoo-ya!!

Kimberli...I actually forgot about a graduation gift that I had ordered awhile back until it came in the mail today !! hahahaha..what timing !!! I know you said your recruit isn't big on reading and neither is mine but I ordered him a book because of how special it is. I know it wouldn't be something for graduation at this point but it might be a suggestion for another occasion or for other recruits for  graduations down the road...It is the book about a Navy Seal named Michael Murphy who was killed while trying to save the lives of the men under his command. I didn't order just any version of the book, I ordered a signed copy, which is signed by the author and three family members of Michael Murphy. It is also personalized to whomever you want and it is numbered since only a certain amount will be available. It also comes with a dvd of the various ceremonies honoring Michael Murphy. The cost was $49.50. If you go to sealofhonor.com all the information is there. This is extra special for my son because he ran a marathon in honor of him and met his parents. We have a picture of several recruits, including my son, with the dad. This was a very big story and I think alot of recruits are aware of it. Marcus Luttrell was the only one of the group who lived and he wrote a book called "Lone Survivor", so far I have not been able to locate a signed copy of that for my son but I did order the book for him...maybe that will come tomorrow !! Thought it might be of interest to others....an inspiration for our Brand New, First of 2011,United States Sailors !!  HoooooYaaaaaaa.....lol...

Thanks everyone for sharing their stories on here. You ladies have been so helpful with everything that I need...you're the BEST!!!  I just got done packing even though we don't leave until Thursday. Safe travel to everyone!!!  I hope to make it to the M and G to meet everyone face to face ;)

...oh, don't forget to pray for all the divisions that are doing Battle Stations tonight.

Wow!  You guys rock!!  I cannot WAIT to meet you all.  Lydia, you make me fall on the floor laughing!  I just want to yell out "Way to go, Boo-Boo!!" when mine starts marching in!! I guess I'll table the gift idea.  We are leaving Wednesday morning and I wouldn't have time to order anything now.  I hope the hugs and kisses from his wife, daughter, father, stepfather and me are enough! ;)

im packing, wrapping gifts and crying out of excitement today. I called my sons recruiter to tell him all about his progress and how well everything went and that he is graduating and, that i appreciated him. He liked to hear that considering i told him the day my son left that they were not my friends! LOL. He is a great person and i will never forget that he did really well by my son. Im excited to meet the staff the worked with my son during his time in boot camp. They are forever going to be heros in my heart for what they do. Its really a hard and demanding job, they deserve a lot of respect. I cannot wait to have my son to myself and just go have fun with him!! deep dish pizza and dogs baby!!!

Blessings all!

Wooow just since this morning I had to go back 5 pages to catch up...  hahahah --- this site will be super busy for the next three days then it will get real quiet!  I LOVE the Bday cake and prayer Idea..  The Ramada set up a podeum at MnG and microphone for us and each parent who wanted too got to say a brief statement about their Sailor and what ever...  Its was great... so keep that in mind and ask them if they will set that up for yall also.  It was fun...

I pray yall got the credit card rental problem taken care of... if anyone needs my help just send me an email... I got TONS of credit cards ugggggggg!!!!!!  Ill help anyone in anyway I can!!!

I see the excitement and craziness... I remember this all sooo well!  Remember my camera drop under the bleachers story...  hahaha....  hang in there and enjoy the bar at the MnG and maybe even buy you a Baileys to stash in your morning coffee... At least remember to breathe!!!!  Roll with it... enjoy each moment!  SCREAM LOUD  when your Divison marches in...  THEY THRIVE on that!!  I even took the most wonderful inappropriate moment as the crowd settled down after the group marched in and were forming their lines to SCREAM ------  MCCRACKEN  whoop whoop!  He told me afterward that it was awesome, embarrasing but awesome!  hahahahah.... So have fun be loud and take lots of tissue and advil for your headache!!!!!!!
