I just got home! I got up at 4am and left the hotel at 5. I didn't want to be driving through Chicago during rush hour. My plane was scheduled to leave at 10:30. I made a wrong turn off of the highway in downtown- oops- only drove a few blocks and thought I'd better go back to where I goofed up and start over. I found my way back and on the right highway. Filled the rental up, stopped at Burger King, and thought I'll just go over to the airport and just hang out. As soon as I walked in- about 7am, I found out that my 10:30 flight had been canceled, but they had a flight leaving at 7:30!  Bag checked, through a long line at security, had my boots on that had to come off, my sweat shirt, coat, cell phones, computer, (of course I had to layer more clothes than normal, because of all the extras in my suit case) Anyhow-- I made it on the plane and my checked suitcase made it to Florida too!. I'm exhausted! My husband was so sweet! He had a beer ready and waiting for me when I got home. I had a wonderful weekend! Thank you everyone!!

Hi Tracy...After I posted this morning I fell sound asleep. I woke up from a dream that I don't remember but it was a navyformom dream. Whatever it was it must have been good because I felt like I had been laughing. The first person I thought of after I got up was you..Then I get on navyformoms and there are posts from and to you !!! Not sure what thats all about but I'm glad it gives me an opportunity to say hello and let you know how great it was to meet you and your husband. It was so nice speaking with you at the meet n greet.... I agree with what you, Lydia and Kim said about the "let down" feeling... not only is it normal but I think most people will experience it in many different ways...our entire system has been on high alert for so long and it's as if it needs a rest, desperately...we will have to learn how to adapt to our sailors new lives and schedules now that the initial "trauma" is over...that may take time and we need to be patient with ourselves as we now navigate a new version of them being away...I'm not sure it will ever be easy but hopefully it will get "easier" as we develop ways of dealing with it and as we keep our focus on the positive aspects of it, more often then not...It's important for us to process our emotions and then look at the good in the situation..Keep things as upbeat as possible, read a book that is uplifting, listen to great music, watch a funny movie, talk to someone who makes you laugh, get out in the sunshine, do something you enjoy....Nurture yourself and if anyone is around who can nurture you...let them !!  Let's all keep sending Love and Good wishes to each other...our thoughts and intentions are very strong...InJoy...GG
