myhero... oh my yes... soo normal... Like post partem blues only this is post PIR my baby is grown up now blues!  You will balance back out again especially once you have daily/weekly communication..  STILL you will be on a roller coaster ride for a long time!  Right on Kimber!

Tracy, I would think its real normal. This is your child you raised and were with 24-7 for many years... letting go is not an easy task. Just try to think of it this way, remember how excited you were when you went out on your own? They are really going to see the world and we get to see it through their eyes. You let go so your child could live a rich and fufilling life and become a successful person, its a wonderful thing. pat yourself on the back MaMa! you are great!

So here's my question: is it 'normal' to feel this depressed after SUCH an awesome event?
I keep telling myself it is the 'after Chistmas/ New Years ' letdown as well as being SO uptight about the roller coaster ride of being a Navy mom. Any thoughts??

Good Morning All !!! Finally back home after the most amazing time in IL...it looks like many of us are just about missing some major storms coming to our home areas...everything working out so well..Hope it all clears out in time for the next graduating class !!

I am still floating with Happiness from the entire trip...(Deliriously tired, but happy..lol..)  The meet n greet was so much fun. It was great meeting so many of the moms and families. There are some people I didn't get to see and I wish I had. Theresa is one of them. I don't know where I heard that you weren't there but now I am reading on this site that you were...I wanted to be able to Thank You in person for my scarf !!!

Bonnie, Thank You again for picking up my ribbons. It was so much fun meeting with you and "visiting" on the phone. Thank you too for bringing my son to us in the morning and taking him under your wing when we had to leave in the morning..I don't know about anyone else but that was extremely difficult for me..I cried for a good part of the hour ride to the airport...The tears were a huge mix of sadness, joy, relief, gratitude and many more emotions...He leaves for Pensacola in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday...We were so fortunate to see him all day friday, saturday and sunday morning until we left for the airport...The only thing that made it bearable was knowing that he would be with such wonderful people when we left.

Getting together with Bonnie, Jan, Becki and their families and Sailors was a huge treat !! Thank you all for including us in a special memory !!! As Jan said, it was so much fun watching the boys together...they were all SUCH nice guys..I keep thinking about how I turned around and saw my son signing the bill for our dinner..I said, what are you doing? and he said, with a huge smile on his face, I've got it mom, this is my treat...I was so happy and surprised and very very proud..my baby is now a thoughtful and responsible Man...right next to me was Jan and her son and sure enough, he had their bill in his hand too...just warms my heart...

Kim, Thank You again for picking up the Birthday cake, that was a  great way for us to celebrate our "babies" even though we can't be with them on their special day...It was so great getting to speak with you !! I loved getting to chat with so many of those here on this great site.. Yay Cindy, we finally met !! So much fun !! Salma, Thanks for finding me before you left..I was so happy to get to speak with you...Sugarscoop, that was hysterical when I was having the woman put my "code name" on my nametag and you heard and said, I'm Sugarscoop and we screamed with laughter and everyone around burst out laughing !!! I could go on and on with the wonderful experiences...there were so many...Reni, I hope your son loved the basketball, what a great idea...

One of my very special "meetings" with a navy mom was when I was in the cafeteria in the NEX (does that place have a "name"??) and my son and his girlfriend were ordering their food. I went over to take their picture (I know, I know, I'm over the top because I wanted to take a picture of my sailor ordering food in his uniform..hahahaha) and as I stood behind them I noticed a woman with one of Lala's ribbons on. I asked her if she was on navyformoms and she said yes and told me she is Jbro'smom...I told her I was GG and we started to chat..Well...this adorable, precious little man with her was the "J" in Jbro and I had the very special privelage of meeting him too!!! As I stood there speaking with his mom, he suddenly threw his arms around me and started hugging me...OH My Goodness...that hug was almost as great as the one from my sailor !!! My daughters were close by and they saw it and could not believe how priceless little J was !!!  I'm telling you, the experiences with everyone from navyformoms has been amazing !!! Bonnie told you all the story about Becki and the license..we were sitting next to Becki and behind Bonnie and it was hysterical..I still laugh just remembering it !!!!

My kids and my husband had so much fun watching all of us interact....Now they have a better understanding of my time on the computer for all those weeks !!!

Lydia, Thank You again for all of your help, it was fun yelling out to you at the MnG...Jessica and Lynne and Diannep, Lala and all of the seasoned moms, Thank You again for all of your help and support...Lala, YES, I got the ribbons !! Thank you..they are beautiful and were a wonderful way of knowing who to approach when we were on our trip...It was so much fun speaking with you...we will stay in touch !!! I would highly recommend your ribbons...they are a great conversation piece !!

Congratulations to the sailor who designed the 802 division tee shirt. After the graduation ceremony, my son said he had gotten us all a gift, he would be right back. I don't know where he went but when he came back, he very proudly handed out the division tee shirts he had purchased for each of us. I could see that it was his way of Thanking us for being there in a very symbolic way. His division means so much to him, as does his family...it was his way of integrating them....

I'm so glad we will continue this journey together...Congratulations to All and prayers and good wishes for those who had some loose ends to tie up...I am grateful to be a part of such a wonderful, strong, courageous, caring, loving and thoughtful "team"....GG

Just dropped my son off at the base for the last time. Heading back to Florida in the morning. He'll be following on Tuesday. Can't wait to get back to some warmer weather! I had a great weekend with Bonnie, GG, Regina, and all of the other mothers. Your son's are great! Now I just have to get used to the mothers names and connect them with the last names of the boys. This is too confusing! It was just fun watching all the boys together, relaxing with each other and just being boys!

Just dropped my boy off at A school. Another teary goodbye!!  I hated to leave him, but it is better than where he was.  We will leave in the morning for our 7 hour ride home and back to life as we know it. I know that I am fortunate to have had such a short trip. Some of you drove and flew from a lot further away. It ws great to meet all of you and I wish you and your sailors the very best. God Bless. At home and just loving all the moments that i have stored in my memory bank from this weekend. I had such a great time and i cant wait till our reunion!! LOL Im with Lydia on staying here if you all choose to do it. Whatever works to keep everyone in touch. I wish that I had met more of your Sailors, I really ran to my son, latched on and took off as soon as I could with him to get my maximum visit in with him. I was just so thrilled to see him that I could hardly contain myself.

Today its rest, catch up on happenings and rest! I love a good sunday rest!
