Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 417 and 418
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

ProudSailorMom You wont be alone. There will be a ton of people at the M&G. As far as the candy parents and loved ones are bringing candy from home or buying it when they get there. Not sure if you can or want to bring some but you are more then welcomed too. It will be fun for everybody. Can't wait. We may be able to use your help with our basket raffle.
Sure! I'll bring candy! And if I can find you I'll definitely help out with the basket raffle. It's just that I'm traveling alone and have a lot of anxiety about it.
I have added a discussion page above. Sarge wanted me to get a count of all the kids 12 and under. That will be going to the MEET and GREET. This Thursday. Oct. 31. He wants to give each child a t-shirt. So if you could let me know haw many are coming so I can let him know that would be great. I have also posted this on Facebook. So if you have checked in there already no need to do it again TY. Please pass the word I would hate for a child to miss out. BUT REMEMBER please check in at my discussion page above. Thank you to all.
Hi everyone, does anyone know what time people can arrive at the Chapel? Since we live near GL we'll be driving and plan on arriving before the gates open. Family who'll be watching from the Chapel will be with us. Can they just wait at the Chapel while we wait to enter the base? That's a long time to wait before the ceremony starts.
Thanks. We haven't heard from our son yet on how BS went, so hopefully he'll have more information for us when he calls.
Emily, just talked to my son, and he was told they could have 2 extra people over in the Chapel. They could come onto the base but were not allowed into the Drill Hall. He sounded so tired, but happy. Said BS went fast. We're so proud of him.
Congratulations to all the Moms (and Dads :-) who will be getting their calls today from their new Sailors!!!
Emily, good idea to do that. We questioned the Public Affairs Office about extras coming to watch on base, and Brain Walsh said they want to encourage them to stay off the base, but in some situations, would allow them in the Chapel to watch the Livestream. It's worth a try!
