N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

bpick:  Yes, you can print as many of the gate passes as you need for the cars.

Jen I'm so sorry to hear your news. We were all rooting for him. My tears for him were as if he were my son. He worked so hard. He should stand proud. We appreciate him.

Sorry in advance is this question has been asked. But when it comes to the gate pass, you can use that for more than 1 vehicle right?  For example with divorced parents and such.

Also if you are going into the PIR hall or have a few going to the chapel, do you park in the same area?

Thanks in advance

Thank you for all the answers and my thoughts are with all those that have kids coming home. Please remember that God will never give you more than you can handle and when a door closes, there is a window that has opened for them. They have survived something most "normal" people could never do and they are stronger than they think. The sky is the limit for your baby now!!!

Hello,
As my family is getting for Friday's graduation with our new sailors... Just wanted to pray for everyones safe travels, and strength for all the ones that didn't make it and I'm still very proud of the choice they made to serve our country. A big shout out to all the veteran moms that helped us through this. I'm grateful for all the info and knowledge you share to all of us. XOXO

I'm not sure where she got the info from diannep. I was also having a heard time hearing her. The phone was very low and at time with static. Oh I hope she wrong. I know Thanksgiving was a given that she probably wouldn't be home but I was hoping at least Christmas. Thank you so much for at least giving me some hope. I did say to her not to get upset about it because you never know things can change. Let's take it day by day, but I tell you what I couldn't tell you how many tears were falling as I was trying to keep her spirit up..

Just got off phone with my SAILOR!!!! So excited and he sounded so good. His division is 952. He told me things to watch for him at PIR. Thank you group. Even though I don't post much the discussion and free advise made these last few weeks easier. Thank you again

My Sailor daughter:  I'm wondering how she knows she will not be home for Christmas (I knew she couldn't leave for Thanksgiving) since that is an A School decision, not RTC?  The A Schools go on Stand Down and although not all of the sailors may be able to leave, many don't want to anyway (they have to pay for their own Leave expenses).  So those who want to come home usually can.  So tell her not to give up hope yet....she will find all of this out during INDOC when she arrives on her A School base.   They will allow them to go "in the hole" on the number of Leave days they have (they accumulate 2.5 per month starting in Bootcamp)....so she would have days to come home.  She would just pay them back during A School.  She will not be able to take more Leave until she completes A School....the Christmas Leave is the only exception.
