DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Also Momma8480:  Heard back from RTC....electronics are fine at PIR as long as headphones are used so as not to distract others with the noise.  They also mentioned the part I told you about....when they ask all to remain seated.  If you find your son is a bit antsy by then, you may want to take him behind the bleachers but hope that won't happen so you don't miss anything.

Momma8480:  They can take whatever personal items they can fit into their Navy luggage (traded at the airport)....must fit in seabag (packed pretty full), garment bag (uniforms) or their carryon backpack.  Although others in the past have brought an extra suitcase for these items for their sailor to take, that is not advised as the sailors must manage their luggage by themselves and that is alot to manage already.  You can always ship/mail more items to them once they have settled in....or....they can take more personal items back after Christmas break if they choose/are approved to take some Leave then from A School when it is on Stand Down.

jenn:  I'm so sorry....but sounds like you have a great attitude to guide him along.  I hope the college opportunity works out for him and that he he takes the "good stuff" from Bootcamp with him....to his next stage in life.  Blessings to you and your son....

Good Morning!  I believe that 952/373/374 went through BattleStations last night....possibly 820 also but thinking not last night for them....have your phones ready just in case.  Calls can start in a few hours!  Congrats to the new sailors!

Well I got a call last night that my son is coming home.  I know that this is God's plan even if I do not understand right now.  I just hope that he is able to understand that too.  I thank you all for the support and guidance during this journey and congratulate all of you and you SRs.  My son included they have done what very few would even attempt to do and should be incredibly proud.  Now I will focus on getting him home and starting a new journey. Hoping he will be able to enroll in college after Christmas and figure out what is best for him. Prayers for my son to not let this defeat him or bring him down and that he will always know that I am proud of him.  Whats meant to be will be.
