N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Nativemom - The address that RTC uses for GPS is: 3355 Illinois Street Great Lakes Illinois 60088.

This leads to a building inside RTC (I believe it is the building where PAO is located). GPS is going to direct you to Gate 55 off of Ray Street. This is incorrect as Gate 55 is for personnel use only.

So if you are looking at a map you will see RTC there off of Buckley...the main street to access gates for RTC. Driving west to east after Ray street is Illinois (Gate 6) and then Ohio Street. Here is where you make a right to get to Gate 8 The entrance for PIR.

There will be plenty of signage on Buckley and the lanes will be coned off. They leave the far left open for flow through traffic. Security is out there too to direct folks . One of them came up to my vehicle to check if I was going to PIR. So lots of help. :-)

Gate 6 is usually the gate you will use to return your Sailors to RTC after liberty. That can change, your Sailors will be briefed in depth about Liberty details before PIR.

Oh jenn72675, didn't mean to leave you out.  I haven't been on very much the last couple of days.

I am sorry for your son being separated. Please thank him for wanting to serve his country. Blessings to him.

Tamme - I hope you hear from your son soon. He needs to sign a waiver for legal and one for medical (HIPAA) in order for you to speak to them about his case. Since it has been a week I would call Legal back. It's not like you have been bugging them every day and a week is long enough to wait for a return call (to long, IMHO).

You can go and pick up your son like diannep said.

TraG - Glad your sons paperwork has gone through.

Please keep us updated . We want to hear when you both have your sons home.

Once again, I am so sorry this has happened.

TraG151 how ling after your son went to INDOC did he get his papers signed?  Mine called from there yesterday and said he was told it would take 10-20 business days for him to get processed and be sent home.  I am hoping he will be home by Thanksgiving.

Tamme, I know they get 2 mandatory calls a week for an hour each time. if you have questions write me I know I am also new to this but have done lots of research. Congratulations everyone!! So happy for you all..
