Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 429 and 430

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I found the extended stay or fairfield Inn both in gurnee.. extended is 78/nt and has free bf and a kitchen... fairfield is 102/nt with free bf and indoor pool..anyone staying at either of these hotels?

We are staying at the Candle Wood Suites

Just so yall know Steve's Steak House in Gurney is highly recommended if you're looking for a nice dinner celebration and the Gurney Mall is nice from what I've heard too if your SR is staying in GL's for A school and want places to go. Hope to meet many of his fellow SR friends and families.. :)

I got a 40 minute call today from my son. He told me when bs21 is. I never expected him to call again until he is the sailor call. I was so happy that their division is coming together good:)

I did too I am so happy I was having such a bad week at work it made my day and I am so excited he was excited and said he likes it! I am relieved and happy for him and His division. Can't wait 11/08
Got another letter today. It's amazing to see the transition of something as simple as writing letters in just a few weeks. I guess going without cell phones and video games creates a need to use regressed lessons from school! The letter was dated last week, and he said they were finishing up "Hell Week" - and thaat is was not too bad, except getting up at 4am. He said the Division was doing well through the PFA's and multiple inspections ( " 5.0'ed most all of them"). Shooting was fun, but watch was a buzz kill. They are all looking forward to the last 2 weeks of training and the PIR.
He also mentioned that it was getting COLD up there and that they talk about a "chill index". Being from the South - he was quite familiar with heat index, but had never heard of a cold factor.
I guess many of us will learn about that as well in a few weeks!

Just had a 20 min call from my son!!He sounded so great!!! Said that his div 429 has won many flags and if they score a 4.7 tomorrow on inspection they will have the Hall of Fame flag earned!! They call themselves the Bad News Bears! Lol. He's gained 12Lbs since he first arrived at bootcamp too!! Wow!! Nothing beats hearing that voice. GOD IS GREAT!!!

My son and all of the SR's in 429/430 are in my prayers!! I have my candle lit and will trust in the Lord to give them the strength and wisdom they need to overcome all obstacles tonight and all their days to come!!

I found out last night my son was asmod until late last night. So he did not go through BS with his division. Please say an extra prayer for him, not sure if he goes tonight or possibly thursday night but keep the Candles burning for him and hopefully I will see you all there Friday!!

Thanks I am not the only one going through this and I am praying for them all!!!
