WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

That was my son FTLW. :)

My sailor and his brother were walking into the ship to check my son in after liberty on the Sat after PIR. They were preceded by a giggling group of new female sailors who were all carrying the very distinct pink bags into the ship from their shopping trip.

At the desk, there on the quarterdeck, was a new sailor from that PIR who was very, very, very, very southern, and was the one to check the ladies in. The females walked up to the desk and he said loudly, "Oh lawd, now I am going to have to search all y'alls drawers."

Needless to say my two kids got a good laugh out of it, as well as the returning females.

Glad she finally got through to you hansumsgirk93 :-)

I know it is hard and frustrating knowing that some of the recruits have a hard time learning to "behave" in the beginning. Just realize that these recruits range in age from 17 to 30 years old, they come from many different lifestyles and many different places, even different countries. It takes a lot of hard work to get them all on the same level and to the point that they are working together as a team. But they will eventually get it, they always do. The RDC"s are very good at what they do and they will shape them all into Sailors and all of you will be so proud of their accomplishments :-) When you see them it will look like they grew 6 inches because they walk so much taller and prouder than ever before. So hang in there, they will all get it together.

I will tell you the girls are just as eager to get rid of the "Granny panties" as the guys are to get rid of the "tighty whities"  lol. We took our daughter/Sailor to the mall after PIR. The first stop was Victoria's Secret, the second stop the bathroom lol.... no more Granny Panties :-)
