WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hey sunshine! Haven't heard a word from my SR either. I am hoping maybe this week. I can't say I have written every day; but every 2-3. I have two jobs and have been battling a cold too. Seriously, when you work all the time....what can you write about??? =) Join us in the ship 02 discussion forum! Where are you from?

Juliette:  Think you will find the car rental cheaper in Milwaukee so that's good!

karens:  AMEN!

Comment by Juliette on October 2, 2012 at 3:34pm

Dianne, I'm actually flying into Milwaukee with US Airways. It was the cheapest flight I could find. And SW didn't have any flights for the time during PIR going into Milwaukee...so I was outta luck. LOL. It's all good though - hotel is booked, so is the flight..so I'm set. Just need to do the car rental and I'm good :)

diannep, no wonder I haven't heard from him, he's probably pissed that he can't talk me into doing it. Every time I start to feel sorry for myself that he isn't here I remember that he is away from everything he has ever known, stuck on a base that he can't leave, being pushed and challenged more than ever before in his life, if he can handle it I can handle holding it together for him so he has no worries except doing what he has to do to become a Sailor.

Comment by Juliette on October 2, 2012 at 3:25pm

Dianne, cool thank you! It's just something worth knowing, esp if we book non-refundable flights, which in my case we did. I really wanted to take Southwest, I like that airline, but unfortunately they didn't fly to Milwaukee on the dates of his PIR, and to fly into Midway was so darn expensive. I'm hoping he passes and does well and stays healthy. That's all I'm praying for now. Flying out for 2 nights cost so much money - but in the end it's worth it just to see him for a few hours.

Comment by diannep on October 2, 2012 at 3:21pm

Juliette:  Did you check the SW fare into Milwaukee?  May be cheaper.  Less traffic and only 45 minutes to GL.
