Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

That was super sweet markelle, I am guessing he planned ahead and took the cash with him so he could send it back to you. That was such a thoughtful thing to do :-)
Soupercook, that is almost always a problem in the beginning of bootcamp and it is usually harder to listen to it for the older recruits. But no worries, they always get it together and start working well as a team before boot camp is over ;-)
Today should be a good letter day. Thursday was always my letter day :-)

We live in Ohio and our letter day was always Thursday so those of you who live east of Ohio will possibly be getting letters today.

1proudmomma - In order to be able to sennd a private message to someone...you need to be "friends" on the site. so, I will send you a friend request.
To check if you have friend requests...new messages in your Inbox...you need to check your Status Box.
The Status Box is in the far right hand column at the top.
You'll see your username in a dark blue bar and the Status Box is directly underneath it.
