Karens, I requested to join your group. This is a different set up than before but as long as I can get to your group it will be okay. The shepherd is my new "baby". We got him last spring after my son signed his DEP papers. He's such a big baby but ya gotta love him (except when he's destroying everything!!). I saw on your page you were discussing letters. When my son was at bc all the other divisions were sending letters but the 818 wasn't. I can remember checking the mail everyday after Wednesday-I figured that if they wrote on Sunday, mailed on Monday the soonest I would get a letter would be Wednesday-and by Saturday I still hadn't received a letter and it really hit me hard. I went on our discussion page and found that a mom had just talked to her son. They had been so busy that they weren't able to write but he told her everything was going great. It was such a relief just to get that little bit of information. So Moms, let the other moms in your division know if you hear anything. Sometimes that will make her day!
I booked at a hotel on sat. and then read the reviews on it and canceled on sun. I booked at a different one yesterday hope it's a little better than the first one lol. I looked into flight prices for 5 of us and it is a little pricey. Now we are thinking of renting a car and making the 12-13 hr. trip. Checking on the price of that today. I'm so sorry to hear about the SR's that have been injured or set back. Hang in there moms. Is it bad that I'm hoping not, but half way expecting mine to call with an injury? She was always such a clutz growing up lol.
I will be opening up Division Discussions in a little while...stand by...please direct everyone to the PIR group...PLEASE do not go and form separate Groups just for your Divisions.
thank you diannep, I will check into that group!
I am so sad for him right now but he sounds very determined to get back at it.
Think I posted once on the site Karens would like to chat more with others in that div tho. Jodi go to Karens page and respond to group maybe we will get more activity on that site. Sometimes just too much stuff here for me to sort thru.
I started one but don't seem to have any activity on it so I just stay with bootcamp and PIR . BTW Cute german shepard!
FTLW, am I missing something? On my screen there are no discussions except the main one. When my son was at bc there were separate groups for each division but I don't see that anywhere here. I'm here for my son's best friend-he lived with us before he shipped out and has no family to support him. He's in ship 13, div 366. I thought I would join that group but I can't find it.
thank you so much :)
skyler: You can book a hotel now....we advise you not to wait on the hotels because some book up. There is a very liberal cancellation policy, usually up to the day before arrival (or day of arrival) to cancel.
karis: Please be sure to join the following group if you have not already...for support. Just go to GROUPS tab up top and put in:
RCU SHIP 04 DIV 2341
You will meet up with others there who have SRs recovering.
when do any of you think I should start booking the hotel for graduation?
