WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

williby  - I may have misunderstood your question.  I did get a call before & after arriving to GL, as well as the scripted call at GL.  I received another call just a few days ago for address info, but there was no opportunity to talk.  It was all business and very brief.

Markelle - How did you get the ship/div?  From the recruiter?

Comment by williby on September 23, 2012 at 9:22pm

Ok Thanks, I do think its a little to early if I remember right but thought I would check, Hope they are all doing well.

I think I`ll write another letter..

Evening, Diannep, I have been on vacation and boy was I surprised to see so many comments when I got back on tonite. My son's PIR was 8/31 and we stayed at the Quality Inn which was only a few miles from RTC.  I got a room with 2 queen beds and a fold out couch since we brought his girlfriend and best friend Luke(who is now in GL ship 13, div 366) and needed the room. It wasn't a bad place to stay. It was $ 79 a night and had a pretty nice self serve breakfast. They have a free shuttle to and from the graduation.Just remember to mention needing the graduation package at any hotel you call.  I'm not sure yet if I'm attending Luke's graduation since another family may go instead but I'm going on the assumption I will.  I'll add my 2 cents worth from time to time since I just went through this not to long ago with my own son and remember what it was like not to get letters etc. Hopefully, I can help ease some mom's anxieties too.

The only call I received was an "info" only for just a few moments to ask for an address. That was a few days ago.

Ship 3 Div 369, has anyone got a call yet?

We stayed at the Comfort Inn when last Son Graduated and was very nice and you get a Navy Graduation discount, it has a shuttle and free breakfast. I`m booking our room tomorrow..

I don't know about anyone else but I'm dreading October lol. I feel like it's going to take an eternity to get through until we get till November....I guess the only good part is that maybe we'll get our phone calls and our letters....
