tracd93 I tried to respond to you but it says that you aren't there. I had just noticed our kids were in the same ship/div. It is so awesome connecting with other parents. I finally feel like some one gets what I'm going through. I sent you a friend request also tracd93.
tracd, how far is your trip from Virginia? Mine is 11.5 hours from PA...i def do dread that trip lol.
My hotel has been booked! I'm looking forward to counting down the weeks now. I also can't wait to start getting my letters from him. I unfortunately will be driving all the way from Pennsylvania....roundtrip tickets to Chicago were insanely overpriced for a 2 night stay. Oh well...its worth the drive...so I don't mind!
I was rather surprised at my SR's handwriting as well. Though I am very familiar with military dates and time. It just didn't look anything like his usual scribble.

I booked my flight day before yesterday. The only reason I did it so early is due to we only have 2 planes/week coming on & off Gilligan's Island. Despite the ridiculously expensive seats, they book up quickly. I just pray that there isn't a change in his PIR date.
NAVY STYLE WRITING is quite a shock to most of us, stamp! I found it hard to believe it was my son's writing. Sadly, his writing now is messy again... :-(
Got my letter today, took 4 days from IL to MN. NEVER seen my son write so NEAT! =) Anyone else have a SR in Ship 2 Div 952?
Leahann: The Courtyard, Springhill Suites, and Residence Inn are about 4 miles from RTC. They all have the PIR shuttle. $3/pp each way and your sailor returns with you for free (unless moving over to GL A School which happens about an hour after PIR concludes). Residence is pet friendly and offers a free hot buffet breakfast, served earlier on PIR day. We enjoyed our stay there...they have studios and 2 bdrm 2 bth units. These hotels are also very close to Sarge's MeetandGreet.
We hear mixed reviews on Ramada. Some say it is ok, some say not so nice. But they do have a MeetandGreet there....although we recommend Sarge's MeetandGreet since it will be full of info.
My son is ship 14 div 367. I can't wait until PIR!!
