WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

MoCityMom:  Is your new sailor moving over to GL A School or just delayed in leaving RTC until after the weekend?  I think at either place, they have daytime liberty with you from around 6 a.m. until 9 or 10 p.m.  Lots of time to do things together!

Chris, I am staying at the residence inn, have to pick someone up from the Navy Lodge prior to going to meet and greet but you are more than welcome to follow us.

I am also So excited and loving all the positive energy, not to mention the weather forecast! I can't wait to get my ribbions and get to PIR! So excited to see him and meet all of you ! Basically, very excited in general :) I work at a small business and am mostly alone. I've been having to take a few breaks and crank up the music and just dance, I just get so happy and overwhelmed  good thing there are no cameras, I would look insane!

I am SO excited and happy for everyone.  I will continue to pray for those who haven't gotten their calls and the other situations that I've seen in comments, especially the two who have lost their lives so young (and tragically).  I'm thankful that I will get to see my SR on Friday and spend time with her over the weekend since she's staying at the RTC, she can spend the weekend with me.  Sad that none of the rest of our family can make it, finances just wouldn't allow it.  Stay strong everyone.

Just received my mail late last night.  Received LaLa's ribbons :)

You did a great job on them!  What a wonderful way to show our pride as well as a wonderful keepsake.

Thank you LaLa

Thanks everyone, downloaded Google Chrome and I GOT MY PASS! Why does a piece of paper make me feel one step closer to my first Sailor Hug from my son?

Comment by diannep on November 4, 2012 at 9:17am

No extra hour of sleep for me today....sons up for their work, my former sailor son's smart phone had its time screwed up (go figure...not so SMART, right?  :-) ) and the alarm didn't go off (set for 5:30).  Thankfully the Lord woke me up at 5:30 and I was able to get him up, dogs barking, etc...other son out of the house 30 minutes later...mass chaos here....then total quiet...my nerves are shot!  HA!  Going to the gym now for my cardio class to work off the stress....then to church for my soul!  Have a great day!
