WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Also, just a thought, if you have the time and inclination, check in on Boot Camp group, we have lots of new Moms and families that need our help and support.

Calirose, It was so nice to see your name on here again!  My Sailor classes up on Monday for A school in Goose Creek SC so he will be much busier than in the past two weeks but I enjoyed all the phone calls, emails and texts these past two weeks, he should be home for Christmas so his brothers and I are excited about that!  Hope all is well with you and your Sailor. Keep in touch!

It does feel strange that for 8 weeks this site was so active and now so quiet.  Hope the Thanksgiving went well for everybody and that our sailors didn't get to homesick.  Thanks for all the support. Just got text from my sailor that is is shopping in Chicago right now.  So nice to get texts now.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! At this time of thanks I wanted to express my thanks and love to all my Navy Sisters without whom I could have never have gotten thru boot camp. Thank you all so much. We did it Moms! We are now "real Navy Moms"!  My sailor is in goose creek south carolina waiting to class up on this Monday. So nice to hear his sweet voice every day. Missing him this Thanksgiving but should be here for Christmas.  I miss everyone also.  Hope all the sailors and families are well. You are all still in my prayers, Love to you all!

Hi all! It's been awhile for me! Had a wonderful time with my son the Sailor! Got to spend the whole weekend and some of Monday! Was so blessed! So many miracles came together to get me there! Thank you Jesus! It feels so weird to be able to give him a call at night just to say "HI". But soooo great to be able too!! Feels more like he is away at college then the Navy. He will be in the GL for       1 1/2 years for school. Thinking about a summer trip to see him with the whole family. Love to you all!!

Hi Ladies! I miss you all too! My Sailor said there is a place on base at GL like a travel agent that helps them with flights

hey jenny0515 it is weird...I have looked at some supposed military sites, but I found them to cost more than if I used Southwest...keep posted if you find something

Comment by Jenny0515 on November 19, 2012 at 9:46pm

It's so weird not getting emails about this anymore...makes everything surreal still. I was wondering if anyone knew where to book cheap military flights or just flights in general for my sailor...let me know if you can! Miss talking to you all.
