WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

They probably won't post CC winners until Monday. Sometimes later. :-(

Jenny M'smom - Do you know who the 2nd place division was?  How did you find out who won already?  I didn't see it posted on the Navy Recruit Training Page yet.

Calirose, I haven't been on today but my sailor also said they all passed when I asked him. I would think that he just hasn't had time to call or else perhaps he didn't have a phone card to use. Don't get discouraged, I'm sure he'll call you before next Friday.

Congrats Div 367 Captains Cup winners.  Apparently it came down to the final 1.5 mile relay and was a really exciting time for everyone.  Plus they got 10 hours of much needed sleep last night!  A few months ago an early bedtime would have been punishment and now it's appreciated  :)

You CAN make it ladies! Emotions start to climb again near the end of BC (just when you may have thought they had settled a bit) as PIR nears...the anticipation of Battlestations, travel plans and finally getting to see your new Sailor.
You have each other to stay grounded...we are here for you always as well.
Big HUGS!

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 3, 2012 at 3:35pm

Well, Calirose, you have what happened to your friend weighing on your mind as well...so sorry for that, for her and their family for the loss of their loved one so young.

He may get that make up call and if not pelase do as diannep suggested below. ((HUGS)) to you!

Trying to stay positive..... really I am, but not going to lie, its a struggle for me right now. Keep reminding myself to put it in perspective, one of my ex coworkers only child (16 yrs old) was hit and killed by car Halloween so my small moment of not knowing what's going on with him is insignificant in comparision to what she is going thru. All about perspective. I know my son is alive and safe and that's enough right now.

I seen nothing wrong with what you said karen. Definietly not talking about anyones SR? simply giving her an update on what you were told about the div. I was told the same thing from my sailor.. it was very sad to hear him not really excited at all =( he was really down beacuse everyone was able to do all these fun things and talk long to their familes and they didnt, he was givin less then 10 min.

calirose you will get it! dont worry! that happen to me the day the whole div call at thier 3 week mark he called me a few days later beacuse when everyone called he had to do his duties.. so stay strong he will call!! =)

Calirose (Ship 13 Div 366) I am thinking of you and praying your call comes soon! :)

Comment by karens (alumni ship 13-Div 366) on November 3, 2012 at 10:53am

Angelica, I wasn't assuming that he didn't pass, my thoughts would be that he did or else someone would have called her.  I was only answering my thoughts on her question of why the 366 was still having difficulties. I truly believe her SR just was on watch or doing other jobs they are assigned.
