Calirose like Diannep said there is a GL Q&A page and one of the current discussions is stand down for Christmas. Captain LIntner (the CO at GL) has been adding comments the past week so we know the info is totally accurate. He approved the leave dates from Dec 21-Jan 6. They are allowed to borrow some leave days but I'm not sure how many. The ITT office on base is the easiest way to purchase tickets (nice to have that service as I've never bought plane tickets and wouldn't be much help to my SR in that department) MWR also has buses running to the airport for them so they don't have to pay taxi. For Thanksgiving cannot travel more than 300 miles away so my SR won't be able to travel then. Did I read somewhere that sarge has something for Thanksgiving? Anyhow, this was the basics much more on that page. I can't go to PIR so looking forward to seeing my son at Christmas. 7 1/2 wks until his plane will land in KY. I had to start a new countdown :)
Reminder: We cannot post BattleStaitons division-specific dates on this page or on FB groups. This is a request from RTC. They want you to practice OPSEC and consider BattleStations as "ship movement" which can't be discussed publicly. It is ok to private message dates though.
Morning diannep.
I am still collecting BattleStations dates for this group. Have only received a couple so far from you all. If you received a date from your SR over the weekend...please friend request/private message it to me. I will be keeping a schedule. Thanks so much!
Good Morning Ladies!
Calirose: The best place to ask this question is on your A School group page. Those there should have info. I really don't believe they can leave for Thanksgiving...but probably will get some leave during Christmas.
Hoping that ladies on your A School group on N4Moms have more specific answers. Your sailor will be informed when he arrives at A School and goes through INDOC.
Does anybody know what happens during the holidays? My SR said he thought he might be able to come home for christmas but what about thanksgiving? Do they have any time available? Would hate to think of my son all the way out there with no one to have thanksgiving dinner with, home is Washington for us. He will be staying at GL for A school. Starting to get really excited about going to PIR.
Yes, FTLW. I just read that...had been out to dinner w/parents. So that is a blessing that the infection is contained to the leg (because of a problem with blood leaving leg which turned out to be a blessing in this case)--praying that he will be able to keep that leg (they did remove some muscle in the leg today, but that is something he can build back up eventually). Thanks so much for the continued prayers and we will celebrate the blessings today!
Thanks so much, mrs.jane.rad!
and thanks everyone for the arrival info!!
