WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

HELL WEEK in BOOT CAMP -

This is the "nutshell" version:

Week 4 is also known a "hell week". This is where everything the recruits has learned to date is tested.

The above is from the "What happens at bootcamp - Day-per-Day? (Up to week #6)" on the NavyDEP.com website.

Here is the link so you can read all about it:

Tell me what "hell week" is!

Comment by Jenny0515 on October 25, 2012 at 4:29pm

I got mail today! I literally ran to my mailbox after class. It was about 4 and a half pages talking about hell week. Apparently, it's been awful but they made it through. My SR said that he "5.0"ed his tests, whatever that means. I suspect that is good. Anywho, wish i would get a call but haven't yet.

I'm thinking about wearing a dress with tights and a peacoat. We made reservations so it's getting really close! Keep counting ladies!

Proudnavymom I would wear a potatoe sack at this point just to see my SR.

We got SR Mail today. My SR is doing good. He said he made it through Hell Week like a Champ! I am so proud. He says our letters keep him strong.

To all the New SR Families please write as much as you can. They want words of incouragement and happy everyday life stuff. I write every thing from what crazy thing his little brother said to what we did on the weekend.

@Sundown...that is soooooooooo funny from shorts to a snow suit, but soooo true.  Yesterday here at home was 80 now I am freezing, East Coast weather is tripping.  Just praying for no ice, snow, rain.  Just want clear.  I think we are going to do jeans and other layers, dress NOT gonna cut it for me and her sister doesnt really do dresses, a skirt every now and again, and a dress for  homecoming/ prom/etc, so probably wont get away with dress for PIR.  It does NOT matter to me just to be there.  I will sweat and freeze just to be in the building with my baby...o sorry SR!

Comment by JH4JH on October 25, 2012 at 2:46pm

Yippee! Only 14 days left.  I hope we don't have any extreme weather changes.  NO ice, NO snow and NOOO blizzards.
