Sick, that is all for today. :( Bed is calling me now.
diannep: we are praying for Brett and family here in our women's group and putting the word out to our military ministry in our church.
From my SR's call today, he will be flying out late sunday to A school at Pensacola, Florida. So just to let everyone knows. (hope it will not change). He was so happy he can spend sometime with us, as we are leaving late sunday night too.
skyler: Most who are flying out to A School do so the day after PIR...if moving over to GL A School, that is done right after PIR.

TV interview with injured sailor Brett's wife. Please continue to pray.
atxmom, it will ultimately be her loss, because you obviously raised a great boy.
diannep, Lala Ribbon Queen: Thanks for your words. I know he will be ok with this. His previous gf broke up with him when he announced he planned to join, before he even signed the initial papers. He said he knew it was coming. Still sad though. They're just too young to be commited now anyway.
Hey everyone :) I was wondering if anyone knew what day their SR was leaving for A school yet? Last Saturday my SR still didn't know but now people are saying they know the time and date :)
atxmom: UGH! Why do these girls do this? What is wrong with waiting until after bootcamp to break up? UGH! I hope that he realizes she is young and this happens. He will be a sailor soon...there are many women who love a man in uniform! Hoping that this breakup will not prove distracting for him....and the he continues focused on his journey to become a sailor with no problem....
ProudStepMom. We took the shuttle back...like Lala said, they make trips back and forth until about noon or so after PIR is over (10:30). We picked up a shuttle (with our sailor) at about 11:30....no problems.
It is so hard for them to get the "break up" while in boot camp. I guess it is good she told him on the phone and not in a letter. I know he is probably hurting right now but it will be a lot easier on him later that it happened now. He will be able to concentrate on boot camp and A-school. They are so young and the military life is not for everyone. I wish him and her the best of luck :-)
Happy Mom here! Just got a call from my SR. Also the first call we've received since the 1 minute "I'm here" call.
He sounded good except he called his gf first and she told him the long distance thing wasn't going to work out. He had that figured out since he has only received one letter from her since he got to BC. Can't hold it against her since she is only 17 and still in high school.
He said the division is doing great and earned several flags last week in addition to the phone call. And he has made several good friends.
