WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Yay!! I just got a call from my SR.  It was so awesome to hear his voice.  It had been since he left Sept 12th since I heard it last.  He sounded so good, says he is enjoying bootcamp now which is a big change from his letters.

That was a good question about the shuttle that I didn't even think about. Thanks for the reply Lala. I tell you this site is GREAT!

Thanks JH4JH, I look forward to it :-)

Mary123, I am so sorry he won't get to go to your other SR's PIR. I wish they would. I know it will be hard to be there and not get to see your other recruit. Have they ran into each other at all since they have been there?

The shuttles will make several trips back to the hotels. You will have plenty of time and your Sailor can ride most of them back with your for free :-)

Comment by ProudStepMom (Ship 11 DIV 364) on October 23, 2012 at 2:01pm

Does anyone know, by taking the hotel shuttles will we still have time to locate our SR after the ceremony and spend a few minutes before we have to get back on the shuttle to the hotel?  Sounds like the shuttle is the way to go but don't want to be left stranded ;-)

Getting close!  SO excited!!

JennyM'sMom:  My guess is that this group has not yet finalized their lists, but may very soon.  I'm wondering if you should call the Public Affairs Office and explain to them what is going on with the uncertainty on when your baby may come?  Hopefully, they will tell you that if you you can make it, you can substitute in.  What a mess....hoping that this new "rule" changes back!  We can only hope!

Good Morning All!

Jenny M's Mom - Recruits send the final list 10-14 days before PIR. Don't know the actual date. Hope you can get it worked out...so sorry. Hope you are doing well! :-)
