Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My son changed his list and took me and hubby off bcause of baby's due date but if she came early we were planning on being there. To not be able to get in sure would stink!

Comment by karens (alumni ship 13-Div 366) on October 22, 2012 at 7:22pm: Just realized that I will only have two more letter days from my SR, I usually get them on Thurs, and the third Thurs, I'll be in Great Lakes, kind of sad, I like getting letters, think it is a lost art, but I'll gladly give up the letters just to see him, since he is leavng Sat, we won't have a long time with him but enough to hear all his experiences and spend several hours with him, maybe a few more at the airport to give him his phone and laptop Then he is off to A school in Goose Creek, and so excited about it. How is this hanger ever going to hold so many proud family members, we may raise the roof with this much love and pride in our SR's!

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on October 22, 2012 at 7:10pm: You ONLY need the Vehicle Parking Pass if you driving your own car onto RTC. It allows the vehicle to come on board. So, if she is NOT driving and is a passenger she is fine!

She just has to make sure she has her "valid government issued photo ID". DL, State ID, passport)
