WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Jenny0515 - Don't wait until the I'm a Sailor call. You can receive that one anytime during the last week. Write him now and ask the questions about the box, form letter, password, and who is on the guest list.  It is my understanding that the guest list is set in stone by the last week.  That's not to say you can't bring extras, just no guarantee they will be able to get into the hall.  However, keep these questions at hand just in case he should call you before he responds to the letter.

Thanks Kathy, we appreciate you as well. You are doing a great job with the 900 divisions on Facebook and we really appreciate your links to this site on your page as well :-)

karens:  If driving to PIR, be sure to be in the car line by 6 a.m....you should plan to be on the base between 7 and 7:30, if not earlier.  12 divisions means lots of people.  The earlier you go, the less traffic.

Now, Sarge DOES know of some shortcuts to get to PIR which may mean you don't have to be in line so early.  So be sure to attend his MeetandGreet and find out!

..and I agree with KwajMom:  Ask your SR for the password...

Comment by diannep on October 20, 2012 at 10:37pm

Jenny:  The password will be used to download your gate pass for PIR.  The 4 names on the list can be updated by your SR about a week or two before PIR.  But no other form letter will be sent.  You should have no problem getting into PIR if your name is on his updated list which they will have at the gates.

Comment by Jenny0515 on October 20, 2012 at 10:06pm
Kwajmom: No one got the form letter...he left on Sept 17th. Also, even if I get the password, isn't there a list for him to put who he wants to attend? If so, then would the password do any good? I've already talked to him once, waiting for the "I'm a Sailor" call and hopefully we can discuss it then. I just don't want to take the time and money to go out to Chicago from TN and not be able to go to PIR.

You can either write your SR for the password or wait for a phone to call to ask.  Calls usually (not guaranteed) come in around week 3, sometimes after completion of Hell Week, and during the last week after they complete BS.

Comment by KwajMom on October 20, 2012 at 9:46pm

Jenny0515 - No Box does not = no form letter. Those are two separate events.  The box is sent if the didn't decide to donate or throw away their clothes.  The form letter is sent once their division is formed.  When did your SR leave for RTC?

Comment by Jenny0515 on October 20, 2012 at 8:38pm
Alright, I've got a situation on my hands. The box was never sent to any family member so that means there is no form letter. I know you need the password to get there....what do I do?!

Beth me too!  Was sooooooooooo good to hear my babygirl voice!  She said things are coming along...she just still concerned about her floating...she can not tread water ugh.  I am just praying hard for her.  Praying she finds that place where she needs to go to relax and get it done.  She got to talk to her sister, godbrother and her dad.  We had a nice long well what I call long conversation.  Praying soooooo hard for her I think she is going to try again on Monday.
