For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I got mail today! Short but sweet. He says letters are the motivation in BC. My SR says on they took their ID pictures on the12th. It takes 5 Days for me to gett each letter.

Quick Question?? What happen to their mail aftter BC PIR? Is it sent back? Is is forwarded to A school? Does it disappear?

To get Hall of Fame they have to pretty much score perfect on everything or it seems like that lol. Very few divisions get it so it is quite an honor. Someone else may know exactly what it takes. It has something to do with the flags the division earns for different drills, training and inspections.

Comment by atxmom on October 18, 2012 at 8:39pm: Short but sweet letter received today. My son said they (Div 370) are on week 4 with physical fitness test on the 15th. The week was to be filled with 3 inspections, test 2 out of 3 (he wasn't more specific than that), live fire of 9mm and 12 gauge, and ending with a drill inspection on Friday the 19th.
