Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Got 4 letters from him<3 I love the fact that letters will only come 2 more times!! I must say Ima miss it a little! Love the feeling of ripping those envelopes open! Lol HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

Got a ltter from my SR he said he and his buddy (both nukes) and will be roommates in Goose Creek, said his mom is on Navy for Moms and I am supposed to find her.

I'm sure we are all sending healing prayers to this fine young man and a prayer for strength for his young wife. Please keep us up to date.

Comment by diannep on October 18, 2012 at 12:48pm: More prayers for Brett please...in surgery again now. UGH! Very critical still but a fighter. Should have been dead already according to doctors. Was worse that I was originally told. Most of colon was removed....stomach and liver damaged but will be ok. Had to stop surgery after 5 hours last night because of swelling, needed to stop blood loss. So horrible. Good news? They GOT the guy who did it. YAH for the Jacksonville Police Dept!

Jodi: Yes, it was that job...problem is...he was told it was permanent full-time (benefits) and now HR is saying it is seasonal which means no benefits and through April only. Ugh....he is trying to reach the mgr of the dept now to get it straight. We shall see!

I am hoping to be able to meet several moms/wives etc from that area and either have a small party or at least all go out to dinner together. If you live in the VA Beach/Norfolk area or close enough to drive and want to join us please send me a friend request or message. I love meeting other Navy Families :-)

If our SR's can make it through this week - I think it's safe to say they got this. Praying all day...and all night! We're so very close now.
