WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

No doubt Kassandra. We're pretty much almost there....the only concern now is that they pass everything and we all get that I'm a Sailor call! :)

lulovesjosh - is your bf active duty or reserve?

Comment by Juliette on October 17, 2012 at 1:07pm

Jodi, my fiance is Reserves, not Active...so once he's finished his A School he'll be stationed back here at home - i'm in PA, his base will be in NJ....otherwise, IF he was active, yes, I would most definitely be moving with him. Glad it's not something I have to worry about though....

juliette, anndrya and lulovesjosh, are you going to move to wherever your sailors will be or are you going to be staying where you are? I think it's so much harder on you young women who are just starting your lives with your guys than for us moms although it is hard on us too. It broke my heart when my son had to leave his girlfriend (both at MEPS and GL),she was so sad.

Comment by Juliette on October 17, 2012 at 12:57pm

True, true Anndrya. I'm actually okay - I'm not falling apart lol - I was just a bit bummed with everything. I'm excited for PIR, very much so - we're very close - don't let my guilty conscience fool you....Just some things are off and won't really be the same till I finally see him again - it's ONLY natural lol...

come on girls pull yourselves together. Be thankful after this week we only have two weeks! we are more than halfway there!  we need to be strong women for our SR, because remember what whatever we are going through out here they are going through 100x worse in there! so we cant be selfish. we need to give them strong women to come home to, that is going to make them love us so much more. and as for letters be THANKFUL for one every week we could be getting nothing imagine that..

Comment by Juliette on October 17, 2012 at 12:33pm

Yeah I guess you're pretty much right. I just feel like I'm living my life like he was never around now. Kind of hard to change that when you don't see or hear from them at all - getting a letter once a week is ok, but it's just too far and in between to give you something to really hold onto....sighs. oh well.

Comment by Juliette on October 17, 2012 at 12:17pm

and DIanne - me too!! :)

Comment by Juliette on October 17, 2012 at 12:13pm

and lulovesjosh...I think that was alot of my problem as well - repeating myself! I felt like I kept doing it, because I sent out letters each week and started forgetting what I was telling him. Ah...so bad. I can't wait for this crap to be over with.
