Juliette, if at all possible you will want to try to find someone to give the phone to, perhaps someone on this site that will be going to see their sailors off, or make sure he has a phone card. We got my son a phone but didn't think to find someone to give it to. He had used all his minutes up on his phone card before leaving bc so he didn't call us after he arrived in Pensacola until several days later. Then he had to wait for his phone to get there (4 days UPS) so if you want to be able to talk to your sailor (maybe even every night) try to get him his phone or a phone card. My son is able to call alot now.
That is awesome Betsy, enjoy your shopping day. I took our college girl shopping in Charlotte last week on her way back to school and I actually did a little Christmas shopping myself. I got my Sailor a few things for her house and now I am looking for great gift ideas for very small things she can take on her ship. I got her a Kindle Fire HD for her December birthday so I am thinking an Amazon gift card will be on the Christmas list for sure so she can get lots of books and movies loaded to the Kindle before she deploys. I got my hubby a deep drop electric fishing reel (wife of the year here lol) I am one of those people who puts a lot of thought into each gift to make sure it is something the receiver will really love and appreciate because I love making people happy. I LOVE Christmas and I LOVE shopping but a lot of my gifts are homemade :-)
Good Morning Everyone! I will be back on later tonight. Yesterday I was running my mom around all day to doctor's visits. Today we are doing some Christmas (yes, I did say Christmas, lol) shopping all day. My mother always has her shopping finished by the end of Oct. She puts me to shame every year. I am very happy that, at least right now, she is healthy enough to enjoy these things. She does have some major health problems, so we are fortunate to be able to do these things. Have a great day and "see you later".
Jenny: I hope that you find it. That is strange....
Jenny ask him in your next letter which address he sent it to. Check with neighbors and also check on any porches you may have as well. One mom found the box on her front porch several weeks after her sone got to boot camp. She always came in the house through her garage and the Fed ex guy left it on the front porch.
Welcome to the group, Jenny!
lol, moms are in the know, we don't beat around any bushes and we always find out what we need to know. I knew more about my Sailors rate/job when she got out of boot camp than she did. Navy for Moms and Google are my best friends lol
Thanks for the correction, lala. Dads and Moms must get differant info.
