Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I think it was taken at the beach in the winter. My Sailor bought him the hat for Christmas so he took the pic to send to her. He has done a few modeling shoots but not that many. He did one in Puerto Rico at a waterfall, three in Monterey Bay CA and a few in Charlotte. Some of them he did in jeans with no shirt but those pics bring out the cougars lol. I appreciate you kind comments and him and my Sailor, of course they have good genes lol

I am trying hard not to freak out over the fact that we dont know what comes next. I've been unable to get in touch with his recruiter to find out about moving to A school. I know the rules are different for each base and can change year to year regarding spouses. This is such a wonderful website, I am not very active in posting, but I log on a few times a day!

Comment by karens (alumni ship 13-Div 366) on October 14, 2012 at 2:19pm: Soupercook, Try not to worry, my three week call, my SR sounded sad, said he was ok but I could hear it in his voice, I encouraged him told him it would get better and he would make it, but cried when I hung up. Then Friday, got a positive, wonderful letter with him saying sometimes it was fun! So they are over the hump, on the way to graduating, Hang in there Mom, we are all here for each other!
