Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by Jenny M'smom on October 10, 2012 at 2:19pm: Hello. My SR got asmoed for 3 weeks. He got on the Navy Knowledge Online site at a time that I guess he was not supposed to. The Office of Public Affairs said this is his new PIR date. We have only gotten a letter no phone call so now don't have his address either. If per chance one of your SRs mentions someone new in their div from KY please friend me and let me know the ships address. We are heartbroke! He was supposed to PIR next Fri and we were already packing for the trip. Have a scheduled c-section Nov 9 so now the family can't attend his PIR. His letter was so sad, and now we are out of contact just like at the beginning. The sooner we can send him letters and give him words of encouragement the better! Thanks.

We just want to keep in the 20's...the closer, the better is what I say. Everything is misread on here, that isn't the first time someone kinda took a jab at me. All is good...let's keep the peace and positive moods.

Kinda hard to judge ur mood in that one, there was no lol or anything with it so I took it for what it straight was. I am just as excited if not more so than the next person believe you me. Just was NOT sure if any one took into account 31 days in Oct is all. Even if you meant it that way is what it is. Life is too short to be at odds over 1 day...the bottom line is we all literally in the same "boat" we love our SR and can NOT wait to see them...Be blessed.
