WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

@MONKEYSMOMSHIP4 Hi! It is nice to see someone on my SRs Ship. There are not many on this site. Have you gotten a phone call? I have gotten only letters once this weekend I got three with different dates too.

Monkey, yeah...you'll be able to spend most of the day with your SR after PIR. If his A School is in GL than you'll get the weekend with him, but if he's shipping out to another state - like my SR, you'll get a good amount of the day with him right after graduation. Welcome! :)

I am new to this but my SR is on ship 4 div 823. We have received 4 letters in all, but the dates are little backwards, so I am guessing the letters get sent randomly. But when we receive his letters, for us it is like Christmas.  I was wondering after the PIR would we be allowed to spend time afterwards with our SR, if so, how long? My SR flies out the next day.

tina, I am pretty sure we will have an extra spot on ours. My SR had his grandma on his list, but she is 85 and decided she'd better decline because of the travelling and walking involved. I can ask him in my next letter, because it will be up to him of course. You can message me the name you would like added and I will ask him.

I guess a good start would be anyone in ship 11/ div 363?? This way they are from the same division? I will just tell him she's coming in order to not make things confusing and have him ask around as well
Comment by diannep on October 9, 2012 at 7:59pm

tina:  With 12 divisions, there should be room for her and she probably won't even have to wait to be seated as an extra.  The problem is this:  An SR needs to put her on their list, which means your SR probably needs to be involved!  Which would ruin her surprise!  Unless someone on here can ask their SR directly to put her on the list, but that SR may feel a little uncomfortable doing this without your SR's involvement.

I would hate for the surprise to be ruined for your SR.....so hoping something can be worked out!

HELP!! I would like to know if anyone has an extra spot on their PIR entry list? My son has four listed and we have 5 going. His grandmother bought a plane ticket as well for a surprise. We are flying out from Boston and she needs to be listed in order to get in and not have to wait to see if there is room after all have been seated. I would hate for her to fly out and not see him actually graduate.
I have read that anyone with an open spot just needs to list the guest's name and we would just have to know the name of the SR and their division number for her to get in. The SRs have time up until one week prior to add and or change names on their list and I would like to get this taken care of early so that I don't have to stress over it ;). PLEASE let me know if you can help us, thank you.
