My son's bunkmate is from Ohio but is div 370. We have a 6 hour drive also, we won't get there until about 9:30, so won't make the M & G . Am excited just the same. By the way Sheilah, great picture!

we have a 6 hour drive to Great Lakes and not sure what time we'll arrive, we are all working a half day on 11/11 any idea what time M&G would start?

@Holly - There is a discussion above about a M&G but I don't think anything formal has been set. The consensus that I've seen is to go to the one the Ramada puts on and then we can go from there. But I'm open for anything!

Congrats to all who've gotten letters/calls - I'm still waiting, but hoping since we're on the west coast it just takes longer to get here! We're from California - my son is going to be a Nuke, division 368.

HooYah for calls and letters!!! Well, there seems to be more from Florida. Diego seems to be the only one from Michigan as far as we know. We'll have to wait until he calls again to see if he has met anyone from our state. We live in a rural area, so I doubt that he will meet up with anyone from our "area."

@diannep, that is tough. We didn't get too much time with my dad due to the wife. We did get this last almost four months though and we made good memories that I carry daily. He went very fast, he had a heart attack in Novermber 06 and started to go downhill after that. It wasn't long before he started with dementia, it took his life in a couple of years, not long term at all. We had him for his last Christmas, it was the first Christmas we had with him since my mom passed. The wife made sure he didn't spend time with his family. We had a great day with him, though he didn't remember everyone and met some great-grand kids for the first time. Little did we know that day would also be the last Christmas for my borther-in-law who passed on 02 December. He is the husband of my youngest sister and they have two boys, they were 13 and 7 at the thime. He had a massive heart attack at their home that they had to witness and tried to save him and couldn't. He had just turend 49 and it has been very challenging for my sister. We are there to help them as much as possible. We are attending a Gift of Life Memorial Service today for those who have donated organs, eyes, tissues so another may live or see. My sister donated her husband's eyes and we pray that the person who received them sees as beautifully as he did. Treasure the moments, make the memories when you can, you never know what God's plan may be.
