Hi everyone, my bf just got moved to this PIR date, he was 11-5 but had been moved to ship 4 for medical for the last week. He called this morning and said they cleared him for duty he thought he was in ship 11 div 346 but wasn't sure of the division.

Got a phone call from my recruit on Monday 10am looking for paperwork info, said ship 11 div 336 PIR 11/12, we did not get THE letter, sent mail to the address under the info given. I don't see anyothers from shp12/div336, will they get them if wrong numbers? She was not able to hold up a conversation, lets say... not happy, very hard to understand. I hope the letters are not returned.

Tobianne- that is great! Since I haven't gotten a letter or phone call from my recruit....yet, I like the idea of sending one to her for a recruit not receiving much or mail.

I had to smile reading some of the posts because I too take my cell phone EVERYWHERE and I am mindful (now) to make sure it is charged at all times..lol

NavyMom- congrats on the phone call. I didn't think that note that I received in that form letter would mean so much to me as I wait to hear from her.

@missheparin- great idea and it would me and my family's honor to stand in for family's that can't make it to graduation but if I know my recruit she will take the initiative before I get to do it....lol. Ship 11 Div 365

This is what Sobe has done with other PIR groups as well. Either will work:

Write a couple of "dear recruit" letters and mail them to your own recruit. Ask them to hand them out to those who don't get much mail (or any mail). In your letter, introduce yourself as a pen pal, give a little bit of info about yourself and your own recruit, then ask questions like.... where are you going to A-School, what are your hobbies, etc. Offer your address so they can write back too. I always tell them that we know bc is hard and that they can use me as a sounding board. Good luck!!!

Hi ladies in re: to the letters to recruits with little or no mail this is what Dianep has done in the past with other PIR groups:

The moms on the site need to start asking their recruits after a couple of weeks if they notice recruits not getting mail. The recruit can then supply their names to their moms on the site. THEN, those moms can post that they have some names to share, and if a mom wants some to write to, they need to private message that mom for the info. Names/addresses should not be posted on the board. I think it's a great thing to do! I have 2 letters sitting here from one recruit that I wrote too....she wrote me back two different times....5 page letters! She is now in A School so I have lost track of her.

The M & G sounds like a great time can't wait. Missheparin I really love your idea to do something for the moms who can't go to Grad. I would also help out in any way if possible.... Just let me know how. If my son brings a buddy with him I would treat him just like my son. I still cry some days too. It did help me a lot to get his 3 lines on the Form letter. His girlfriend has gotten 3 letters. And yes I think we all carry our cell phones on our hip....

Are we gonna have a meet and Greet? (M & G)?!?!?!?! I have seen it on several comments on other groups, and I think that it would be fun!!! From what I understand it is done by members of navy for moms, for navy for moms! Kind of just to get to know each other, and meet the families of the sailors! I am not a organizer, but if anyone else is, I can definitely HELP!!! Via internet, of course!!!
