4j'smom- I got the form letter monday but nothing else.... We have to keep in mind that they are so busy, they can only write to us when allowed to... Trust me... He is fine! God is watching all our men!!! I know as soon as they can they will write or call.... Stay positive.... Last week was extremely hard for me i cried every second but this week after i got the form letter and his note at the bottom it made all the difference and i've been good every sense.

4Jsmom - When did your son ship out? Mine left on 9/14 and I got my first letter last week Friday. I still haven't gotten the form letter yet....Hoping for that today. I on the other hand have written and mailed a letter to my son each day since he's been gone. As for the phone, I take it to the bathroom with me! We are all in the same boat - no pun intended - and we are all here to make sure we swim! My son wasn't much of a writer either, so I was very happy just to get a few lines - his girlfriend of course got a 3 page letter! lol

Navymom2010 - I'm so happy you got to speak with your son yesterday! I'm hoping we all get calls or at least letters this weekend.

Hi there! I know your pain because I felt the same way. I was a wreck for the first few days just looking at a picture or hearing my youngest son say his name. . But I did get a chance to talk to him yesterday and he said things were starting to get a little better for his div. I have written about 9 letters already and still have not received one from him yet. He said that he had not received any of the mail yet. Know that he will be just fine and that we are here for you. I will keep him in my prayers.

You can get a recruits name from your Sr's, they will know who is and who is not getting mail. Have them ask the mail petty officer (it is a job the recruits will get) and they can maybe help them. We had many moms writing to recruits in the PIR 8/13 group. It is sad and yes they I am sure would love to have mail. As a matter of fact Sobe was and maybe still is writing to some recruits, she may be better to get the info from. I have not seen many post from her lately I do think she had been sick. I will get in touch with dianep and find out how we do this.

In one earlier post from way back when, it was suggested that we write "open" letters to friends of our recruits that may not be getting mail. That way they'd know that they were being supported by someone.

**missheparin** you are so not a "Debby Downer"...I would say you are a very caring and thoughtful lady. Sign me up...I, too, would be more than happy to help out those that can't attend. My son is in Ship 11, Div 367 and I will have three people with me on the trip. We would be more than happy to have your Sailor join us for some fun, good eats and huge hug from home! Trust me...we have enough to go around...hugs that is...oh, and fun! I'm going to be practicing with my son's camera...so, hopefully by the time graduation comes around I will be able to take some awesome pictures...ones that you can tell what the heck they are. Not to worry, though, the other three people coming with are very good with their cameras...so we will have a lot of pics to go around!

I too, would be willing to do what we can for those that will be unable to make it. We can take photos, and give their Sailor a big hug from home! That would be awesome and know that it would be appreicated!

I agree with missheparin..... what about the recruits that don't have someone? My son is Ship 11 Div 386. If anyone can't go and I can help by being a kind of surrogate, it would be my pleasure. My son will have 3 people so we could "spread the wealth"....
