So I got home and saw the 847 on our caller ID. I guess Charlie forgot I worked! Oh well, he did reach his gf...hmmmm....maybe there was more to it! lol

Heather - Awesome news from your fiancee! Charlie was hoping to make Honor Guard as well, I wonder if he did. And I wonder now that our guys have finished processing we will actually get the form letter?

WooHoo to those that received information and calls today!! That is wonderful!!! So glad that processing is over, we knew that it would be all week. Diego's best friend is a month ahead of him, so we get info from his mom too as well as so much here. Can't wait to meet so many at graduation!!

Diana, I just received a call from my sailor too!!! He needed some additional information as well. He sounded really good!! Said he was a RPC (recruit petty officer) and Honor Guard for his entire division!! He said today was the first official day of training- processing is finished. Can you believe they've been in processing this entire time?! It was good to hear his voice and hear that he sounds well and not beat-down. But I guess since the training begins today, it might be a different story with the next phone call :)

So I just got a call from my son's gf. She just got a quick 2 minute call from him and was so excited. Apparently he needed some information about a job he recently had and called her for it. Made sense since I would have been no help considering he lived in a different state. She said he sounded good, but rushed. At least he's making it!!! :-)

Hi BrockMoM...just heard from my son's recruiter...Ship 11 Div 367...I asked if others were in his same division if the PIR would be different and he said no, so it's looks like I guessed right and my son will have an 11/12 PIR! Yes, yes, yes!

Diana...I haven't received my "form letter" yet either. My son, too, left 2 weeks ago. I received the box...I haven't received the letter yet. I'm just wondering if it's because I'm way, way, way in the boonies and not near a major metro area...sometimes it seems we are a real geographical anomaly...2 weeks from any where :-)

Does anyone know about the navy lodge or the navy gateway inns/suites on base? I am a DOD civilian and my husband is retired navy. Just wondering if we can make reservation at one of those locations

That, and this conversation....
Mom to Child "Put a sweater on"
Child to Mom "Why?"
Mom to Child "Because I'm cold, that's why!"
