Hi Diana & HeatherSRfiance,

Yes, everything else was in his box. No form letter today. Ugh. Spoke to his recruiter and as with everything there are several reasons why it would not have come back home...the main one being that some recruits keep all of their phone numbers, etc. and are able to 1) keep it in a locked location; 2) their CO's office, etc., etc., etc. I'm so glad to hear that everyone's letters are arriving! I know that I will receive one soon!

Got the form letter today!! Confirmed graduation date of 11/12/10 so I'm very excited I had it estimated right, it's far enough away, I was hoping it wasn't later than I predicted, I already had my heart set on the 12th. His few lines were just telling everyone he missed them and he loved us.

angel- try www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ If that doesn't work then you may have to install mozilla firefox to access the page. It is a free download. I hope this helps. And I hope everyone is doing well and getting some letters. My sailor had PIR July 23rd and her fiancee has PIR Oct 29th. My sailor graduated from A-school yesterday and is coming home today. I am so excited but let me tell you... "I HATE Layovers" lol

She was in the choir at bootcamp and she was grad and go to Pensacola and she is an AO. We stayed at the Navy Lodge and I am known as the Ribbon Queen because I make ribbons to wear to PIR. If anyone has any questions please send me a friend request. I am happy to help in any way I can.

It really does, and my day is made! I really am fortunate that I have the type of relationship with his gf that she is willing to share this with me. As much as I might have grumbled about it earlier....lol

Wow Diana, that's such awesome news!! Doesn't it feel nice to hear their words?!! I'm sure that makes your day- my letter made my day yesterday and today I'm still giddy about it!

Ok, my heart is bursting!!! I just got a call from my son's girlfriend, she got 5 letters from him today - it's her birthday and she is giddy! She was kind enough to call and share them with me. Charlie said he is doing good, it's hard, and the food sucks. But apparently he is making a good impression. He was picked by his Chief to carry a flag when they have ceremonies and stuff! He thought that was cool, and I am beaming. He also told her that he's going to try out for the rifle squad...WOW this is not the kid I sent off to boot!

I haven't gotten a letter yet, but now I can honestly say I'm ok with it. I know he's doing good and he's already making changes in his life. Plus, having a connection with his girlfriend is turning out to be a good thing! Sorry for gushing....

Angeleyes - try this link http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/upcoming_grads.asp There isn't anything posted yet for 11/12 but maybe today! Looks like some people are getting the "official" word in their form letters so maybe we'll get it soon too....

Congrats on getting the letter Holly! I'm glad it sounds like your son is doing ok, even if a bit tired.
