Hi all - my name is Megan & my son Zac left for BC last week on the 15th. I'm working off the info the recruiter gave me, Ship 11 Div 368, so I'm crossing my fingers he'll be in the 11/12 group. Zac is 18, my first one to go...and we're in California so it's a long way to Great Lakes! Zac is going to the nuclear program after BC - anyone else with a sailor heading there?

My name is Heather and my fiance sailor checked into GL last Tuesday. We have 3 children (mine from a previous marriage) but he's a great step-dad! He is going into the Intelligence field, as a specialist. I am incredibly proud of him! We're from Missouri, so I'm not too far from where he's at. We're getting married next year, so while he's gone, I'm making wedding preparations, working full time, going to school part time and taking care of the three kids :) I have many things to keep me busy but it doesn't stop me from thinking about him every other second :) I'm just extremely proud of him! It's nice to meet you all!

And I forgot to say that we are from Bettendorf, Iowa and our son will go to Corpsman A school in Great Lakes after BC. I didn't even know he liked medical stuff- it took two Navy corpsman to give him shots when he was four, so maybe that was shades of things to come! HA

Hi all- so so glad that you are all here. Our son's recruiter called my hubby yesterday with the address- so we're just guessing too on the date. He's our only one- so our house is suddenly very quiet and I haven't bought any milk or gater aid in a week. My husband and I were both in the Navy- my husband retired as a Master Chief, but it's completely different from a parent's point of view. Plus, things have changed a ton! I did go the whole day today with no weepiness- it's progress!

Hi everyone...well, I guess I'm in the same boat as most of the moms...I'm guessing that my son's PIR is 11/12. His name is Devin and he is 18. He joined the Navy in January of this year and finally DEP'ed out last week.I received a call today and my "kid in the box without the kid" arrived today...since I'm at work, I haven't had a chance to open it. I'm nervous, tearful, but very proud of my son...this is the best decision that he has made!

It was nice having you even for a short time! Feel free to hang around and chat if you feel like it....

Hi Marianne! Welcome to the club! We are all "guessing" at the PIR date at this point, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we are right.

So - let's get to know each other! I'm from FL, my son was in MD with his dad before he left. After GL he'll be going to Pensacola for CTR training....how about you guys?

I checked my mail when I went home for lunch, no form letter today :( Hopefully soon!!! Good Luck to you Marianne, maybe your will come and you can fill us in!!
