I just returned from voting. When they checked me in I asked if they could tell me if someone's absentee ballot had arrived. They said yes. When I told them my son's name the gentleman said it is here and been counted, there is an A by his name. I burst out crying. Everyone was just looking at me. I said he is in boot camp right now and I know how important this vote was to him. The man promptly gave me a kleenex and a hug. lol

in the past there were reports of Sailors getting "special attention" in boot camp because of something posted about them here, with enough information to identify them.

While there is no OPSEC reason to obscure the identity of your Sailor, use your own comfort level as a measure of how much you chose to reveal to us about him or her. Photographs, last names, or even an unusual first name, coupled with a PIR date or Ship/Div designations could be enough to make an identification.

Don't take this message as some sort of dire warning, but simply as information to help you make reasoned decisions

We got a call. He sounded really good. Thank you God. Said he finally got mail. Got everything in two days. He didn't have room for all of it so he had to throw some away and mistakenly threw away his pictures. He said they were suppposed to get a call a few days ago but everyone didn't finish what they had to do in time. :( Said he doesn't know if they will get another call until after Battlestation. Now I miss him more than ever. It is strange.
