Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 001 & 002.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Hi ladies.
Received my first 'unrushed' call today. Surprisingly, my son is loving it. He did tell me that their days are scheduled down to the minute, which is great. His first letter home said it's definitely an experience, that he wasn't home sick and he looks forward to the meals. Prior to him leaving, I was informed that they usually have free time to write on Sundays, so ladies hang in there. I'm sure those letters are on their way.
Hi all! We received letters today dated from 10/1-10/6 and received a very nice phone call. The letters were OK but the phone call was amazing. She stated that they earned a call today and sounded great! What a weight lifted to hear her voice- haven't heard it since 9/18!!! I hope everyone else was blessed as well today!!!
I got a phone call today, we talked for 25 minutes. He told me a lot.. It was great, he sounded good!! Great Day!!
PA Mom, same here... he said they won't stop talking and the marching... etc.. and yes, he said WHATEVER you do, DO NOT SEND FOOD. He said he didn't think he would "earn" another call, because of all the talking etc. He said they did win an Academic flag and that was great.. they were the first to earn a flag,,
First to win a flag? That's awesome! It seems that the talking is a common theme among our kid's comments - I am sure, though, that none of OUR SRs are responsible for that! :)
My call was awesome - he sounded great, and we got to talk for about 20 minutes. He tried to call his GF too, but that just didn't work out. She was really bummed out.
We got 6 letters today, 2 to me, 1 to dad, 1 to a brother (all other siblings are jealous now :-( ..) and 2 to the GF... plus he sent one to my best friend :) he had some down time because he had 2 wisdom teeth pulled... he wrote all about that, haha.. also how he was the most popular recruit the night he got the NFL scores I sent. haha
Hi ladies! My SR is in 09 Div 001. He called for the first time Thursday afternoon. So excited to hear his voice. He had a nasty cold he said was going around. I've also received four letters so far. He too had his wisdom teeth removed and they gave him ibuprofen and hydrocodone. They have to stay in bed for 2 days. He says he looks forward to the food every day. They get to write at night. He said there were people talking loudly, even as he was writing. He said they must have forgotten how they were in trouble the week prior. I could see him shaking his head. lol! Has anyone else not received the form letter?
RitaH - if you have not received the form letter by now, I think it was lost in the mail. The important information in the letter is that you have his address and his PIR. The only thing I would worry about would be the password to be able to print the parking pass. I would check with one of the "veteran" moms on the site about how to handle that.
When I needed to call the base to provide some requested information, it was trying to find my out of a maze. Each person told me to call a different number, and they could not transfer me. No kidding, it took me about 30 minutes to give them a name and a phone number!
Good Luck!!!
