Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 003 & 004.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Anyone else have a nukie?

Crazy question but I am wondering if the letters everyone else is receiving from their SR is written in pencil? I know his handwriting is MUCH smaller than he usually writes and I'm thinking maybe it's easier for him to write smaller with a pencil than a pen but it just seems like he would be using a pen.

Yeah, Pencil... but we have only received one personal letter which was written on the 25th of Sept.  Was amazing that we could read it.. God Love him but he has terrible hand writing, LOL.   He is using the official Navy Print.  They are changing him!   Just hope he is learning lots of lessons, and realizing a lot of the things his Mom and I have been telling him for years where meant to develop him into a responsible young man.  We can only pray at this point.

All of the letters we have received so far have been in pen. Maybe that will change. It may just be what they had with them when they went adn if they didn't have one what the Navy issued to them. JT took a pen and a little bit of small paper with him. :) I think he must have gotten to keep it. Because some of the earliest letters are on that paper.

My son is going to San Antonio for A School. (corpsman).  Any other sailors going there?  Will they be allowed to fly home for Christmas? Thanks in advance,  Loved my 2 letters in that neat handwriting!  Hope all is well with the families!

Brandon's Mom

Yes! Any one going to school on an Air Force base will go home for Christmas. Education AF bases shut down for about 2 weeks at the holidays.

Hi Maureen, my daughter is going to San Antonio for A school too. I hope they can come home for Christmas but I am not getting my hopes up. Diana

JT will be goin to San Antonio also for MA. His letter said that his school would be closed for the holidays. But, not holding my breathe yet. Not even sure if he can come even if it is closed.

Did anyone get a phone call this weekend from either Division?   Heard the kids were to have PFA-Swim test this past week...  Hoping we all passed!

No phone call here. James's letter said a few guys sank but not if they're from their divisions or if anyone failed.

Are we on week 3 or 4?

I think start of week 4, My countdown says 1 month, 1 week and 1 day, 2 hr 34min and 18 seconds.. Not that we are counting.. LOL.

I think their may be several swim test going on..  Third Class for general seaman, then 2nd Class for those aircrews, small boat personnel..

I thought so... Thanks!
