Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 007 & 008.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions  and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Ok, I'll start...looking forward to meeting other members who have loved ones in this division. My son is 18 and going to Pensacola for CTT training after boot camp.

My son, Zach is going to Florida also after BC. Where are you from?

We live in VA. I got to talk to my son yesterday. He called requesting info for his security clearance. He says he's doing well and isn't hating it that much right now. What job will Zach be doing?

Before he left he wanted to train for rescue swimming, all of it was so confusing to me when he told me. But, he will be going to Pensacola also. I hope we get to spend time with them on that Saturday, before he flies out. I have not heard anything from Zach, I sure wish I would soon, but I will probably cry like a baby again. This is harder than expected.

My son Tyler is in div 008, and I was wondering how did you find out where your son is going after BC?

His "A" school was listed on his contract milligan7.

This is where I am confused, my husband said he went in "unassigned".  I looked at the contract and he entered under S-PACT program which is a seaman career track so I guess he will go where he is needed.  It says something about 3 weeks of additional training for shipboard.  Confusing.  I guess I will know more when he calls or writes.

S-Pact goes to school at Great Lakes; Starts the Monday after graduation so your SR will have all weekend of Liberty to spend with loved ones.

I need to pay attention to what I write (I'm a third shift worker and can't sleep well right now)  My son is in div007. Ladies and gentlemen please forgive me if I look a little crazy sometimes on here because it is the first thing I do when I wake up.

Hi Ship 14 / Div 008 worry-mates!

My favorite SR is my 23-year-old son Matt. Haven't received The First Call yet (the REAL call, not the 10-second thing) and still waiting for a letter back. But I'm being patient because I know he has the rougher end of the stick and is probably too exhausted to write. Probably rougher on him than boot camp is going through keyboard withdrawal, lol !!

Since I haven't heard a blessed word from him yet, I have no idea where he'll be going to A school. He signed for Avionics (but wants to switch to Corpsman), so he could be staying at Great Lakes, might not.

Looking forward to chatting and eventually meeting all of you in 6 (short??) weeks.

I was hoping today would be the day for a call. No letter either.
But like you said Martiheg, I'm sure they are exhausted. I Just miss
My boy like crazy.
Milligan7- Zach was told in his contract that he went
To Pensacola. I have a friend and her daughter left two days
Prior and she was undecided and is staying there for A school.
I look forward to talking with you all more, its a great support system.

worry-mate, mother of Jacob !!! Lol! I have not received a letter yet. I think we should get one by the end of the week though! PATIENTLY waiting......looking forward to meeting you all as well!!!
