Before I sign off for the night, can I just please say how much I'm looking forward to meeting y'all?  I really am!  You allow me to vent frustration, you are helping me to learn patience (no easy task) and you are helping me to grow up. I'm very grateful to you all.  You're keeping me from going postal at Publix (and they're grateful for that too!)

Yup...that seems to be an MO.. I have gotten 2 letters in each envelope.  I do love getting 'em tho...My first letter to my son ended up being 14 pages--kind of a journal thing...had to wait to get the right address.  In his latest he mentioned that he had gotten it and the pictures I sent. I was never much of a letter writer, until now...now I write all the dang time! :)

"youR" not "you"!

suebal:  You are too funny!  I think you will be able to keep you "head!"  HA!  They actually hold the mail from them for the first 2 weeks...but you really are supposed to wait until you have the form letter address to write anyway...so...in that case, by the time the letters arrive up there, they should be allowed mail.  I know many use the recruiter's address (which is sometimes the right address, sometimes not), but RTC asks that all wait for the form letter and use that address, which is the correct one.

Anyway, once that mail does start flowing, they really do want letters everyday so write often!

Ebony, you will at least have PIR day with him...the whole day (until 8 or 9 pm).  And if he is flying out the next day, you can meet him at the airport for extra time!

I had heard from some other Navy wives that they'll hold mail sometimes to encourage the SR's to work hard, be a strong team etc. That was a big fear of mine because I heard that sometimes they'll taunt the SR's with wives or girlfriends " She's not writing because she's out doing so and so" or " Guess she doesn't love you". Stuff like that. But then when they accomplish their goal they got their mail. I don't think it's right either but it's out of our hands :(

I agree suebal! Shoot! I'll catch a flight, show up and volunteer to deliver the mail myself if that's what it takes.
