Topic on another PIR group...just thought I'd post!

The weeks of BC:

The first week is "P" days, the next six is specific training and classroom time (though they are learning things during "P" days, marching, making there rack etc.), and then the end of the sixth week to the end of BC is BS21, Captains Cup and PIR.

"P" days DO NOT count in the "counting" of days in BC. So 1-1 is the first day after "P" days ends...Saturdays and Sundays do not count either. So, if 1-1 is on a Tuesday...2-1 will be the next Tuesday (and yes a holiday will adjust this...don't ask me to figure it out right now...my head is spinning)

I posted a direct link to RSVP to the M & G up in the Text box area under the weather OR you can just go the calendar on the right hand side and click Nov 17th and it will take you there!

Meet and Greet

Hi everyone!

I'd like to invite someone from this group add the Meet N Greet to Events.

All you have to do is click on the date (in this case it would be November 17^th for the M&G but you would use 11/18/2011 in the title) on the Calendar on the lower right on this page, it will take you to the events for that day. Click "add" and fill in the boxes.

Then everyone from this group may go there to RSVP for the M & G. ANYONE may attend...the Ramada does this for every PIR group as a courtesy, it is free. Those staying at the Ramada will get a voucher for two free drinks and they have a cash bar. They do not mind if you bring in a water or soft drink with you. The RSVP just helps them get a head count so they know how much food to prepare. But I am sure they make a bit extra!

Remember, if any have written letters with recruiter's address to your SR, they are held for the first 2 weeks of BC anyway--all letters are while training the Recruit Mail Petty Officer.  Then they get them all at once.  Be sure to check that address with the one your SR wrote in the form letter...sometimes they are different.  The one your SR wrote is correct.  All letters will get there but may take longer if address is incorrect from recruiter.

Wish I could meet Sarge....I have heard such great things about how kind he is to the Navy families and the sailors up there.  Sure is a lifesaver for transporation issues during PIR weekend and for the sailors who are in school there.
